I think it’s still great value up to $400 a month

I’m happy to be proven wrong with examples of full country clubs with cheaper buy ins and rates. But when I have told buddies from other areas and especially other states they are astounded at the cheapness of it. But admiringly I haven’t exactly researched that

Shell Landing has a family membership (anytime weekday and weekends after 12pm) for $180/month and it's in much better shape.

The Oaks has a membership with no cart fees and unlimited play for $225/month.

BCCC is charging for more of the country club experience BUT the restaurant is open to the public so there's no real benefit there for members.

Yes, BCCC is cheaper than Money Hill and Tchefuncta and I do think it's a better value which is why I joined BUT that doesnt mean some of the issues shouldn't be addressed.

Have you heard they now issue "Golf Cart Infraction Violations"..first a warning, then they start to fine?

How are the greens? Is there a F&B minimum?

No F&B minimum

Greens are consistent and roll well. The two biggest issues with the greens are not enough members repair their ball marks and some of the pin placements.

The people placing the pins don't know jackshit about golf and IMO, use too many placements and put too many pins in ridiculous spots (on slopes, etc). It's not uncommon to have the current pin/cup within a 20sqft area of 4 other previous cup marks.

40 is old for a “junior” membership. Most clubs I worked at it was under 35.

Good greens, 2 courses, $400/mth w no F&B min sounds pretty cheap baw. I think you may be expecting too much. I’ll prob be joining this year and like the other baw said, if it was $600 I likely wouldn’t.

It isn't $400/month though.

I forgot about the higher initiation membership. That is about 400.

You’ll be paying every bit of $600 a month after taxes and carts. Unless you plan on walking and never getting any food or drink there. Plus, $5000 initiation fee if you’re over 40.

Their membership in general sucks arse. Very snotty. They used to have one of the best 4 ball tournaments in the state during Memorial Day weekend. 3 days. Pre flighted. Great food and drink. Great prize money both from tournament and in players pool. Membership didn’t like it because they had to give up ONE of their courses for the weekend, so they dropped it. Love the place, can’t stand the snotty north shore people that make up the membership

This was before I joined but after reading your post...seems like the right decision to me.

There are tournaments there all the time so if this story is true, its you guys they didn't like for some reason not just the fact of having a tournament.

Been a member for a few years and couldn't disagree more. Members are great and have welcomed me into several groups. Almost too easy to get a game any day of the week. Standard complaints are course conditions and course closures due to tournaments. Membership grew and got much younger the past few years and coupled with the pool, tennis and other amenities it's been great for me and my young family and something we wouldn't have access too in most areas.

If the membership believes that there's too much riff-raff coming in for a tournament, they should shut it down. This holds true for all private courses, not just BC.

Sorry you didn't feel welcome but that's how it works when it's private.

The membership at BCCC doesnt have ownership's or even managements ear like that. If there were valid complaints, it wasn't just that one of the courses were shut down. Sure, nobody exactly likes it when we go down to one course BUT those tournaments are revenue generates so we can avoid assessments so it's a trade off. There are dozens of tournaments throughout the year so if if the club was pulled from them it's either from something they did to ownership, management or to the membership beyond just needing to close a course down for a day or two.
