I just moved to mid city. Can anybody tell me about the Bayou Oaks courses at City Park? I’ve read some good reviews on the south course, but look forward to yall’s input.

Nice condition - kinda boring. Not worth $100 to me.

North Course is a goat ranch and not worth your time.
South Course is always in great condition, greens role great. Layout isn't all the spectacular, but it's best public golf you'll get outside TPC within a 30 minute drive.
It's priced high enough to keep the riff raff out, so pace of play is always good.

I throw Turn before Bayou Oaks.

I enjoy the South Course. It’s fun to play. Its in a pretty setting. It’s what a good muni should be. I’d rather play it than TPC any day of the week. I’m not an ego guy that plays from 2 tee boxes too far back and enjoys courses that beat my brains in though.
Agree they should have put more money into shaping and bunkers, but the layout and greens are solid.

Go on a golf app and look for a discount tee time. It’s a very nice course but not close to $100 a round course. $40-$55 tops.

Way overpriced and boring AF. English Turn and TPC far better for around the same price. Only benefit is the location.

Played it for the first time this morning. I thought it was a great course. Windy out and it was looooong. But was in good shape and had some fun shots.
Would have liked the greens to have been a bit more undulating, but thought bunkering at least made up for it.
Great job integrating what that land gave them into the course. Wish it would have been here when I was living here.

I’ve never noticed this stickied at the top so I’m just posting in it since I’ve recently played both courses.
South course - Excellent. Gets a lot of weird reviews on this site but it is in fantastic shape. I personally really enjoy the course.
North course - course is unplayable after a nice rain. Otherwise it’s in meh at best shape. But they’re at least improving from where it was a few years ago.
ETA: I guess I should have posted in the sticker thread and not the links within it
Sorry for the bump.

The sticky thread is a quick reference so people can find these threads and bump them as the year goes on. You did it right.

Expect to pay $100 for a municipal course dressed up like a country club.
Boring track
Tame layout. Predictable set up. Good conditions throughout but it is whole heartedly one of the most boring courses.
Pace of play is horrible.
Have left the course twice after only getting through 11 or so holes.
Trouble is that if you are in uptown it is a convenient location.
Most good golf in the metro area is in the West Bank.

this is either a damn lie or you played the golf course at the worst time imagineable. Pace of play has never been a problem at the south course.
ETA: thanks chappy

I have been walking it recently, and I think the North Course is Light years better than it was just last year. I wouldnt pay over $25 to play it with a cart.

I do agree with this. I thought the place was beyond repair not long ago. It’s moving the right direction just not there yet.
