As a kid played all the City Park golf courses. Was in town last week and drove by the park and what a sad site. The north course is still just as boring as ever. The new course looks pitiful, The areas where the East course use to be had 18" of over growth along with the old 9 hole junior course.
What was once a great facility has been ignored and neglected. What a shame many great memories. When I was old enough I joined the St John Golf Club.
Use to do a whole lot of fishing there also. Fished in the rodeo every year with my dad! Some of the lakes around the new course has also been neglected with algae.

Same.
That facility in the 90's was tremendous.
East Course was always my favorite.

Played two weeks ago on south course and it was in good shape. The north course is a goat farm. But to say the whole facility is terrible is just dumb. Nice driving range, nice clubhouse, nice south course all in the heart of New Orleans.

North course serves its purpose imo, its an actual golf layout, not a pitch and putt course, and green fees are like 20 bucks. Its a tremendous course to learn the game on, or for casual golfers to get a round in where they use their whole bag for cheap. I dont ever play it other than when I play with buddies who dont golf and dont want to pay for legit green fees, or im with my kids, or a couple times a year when I want to walk a course in under 3 hrs randomly. I prefer it to audubon personally if we are talking purely golf reasoning.
But its also an indication of how cool you are in the nola golf community to hate on it like as if they are trying to make it anything more than it is, so im conflicted.
I havent been to the short game area but I audibly laughed when I got the annual pass email that we were being graced with early access, and then it was explained as 1 day early. But bravo to them anyway, I had written it off as ever being something anyone would use at any point.
