The Island’s greens were not great today. Slow, thick n grainy, and visible dents in many of the greens from the aeration. Putting on many of the greens was like Plinko.

Santa Maria still recovering from verticut and aeration

Not good at all today, bumpy, and grainy

If BREC would just put forth an ounce of effort into maintenance I wouldn’t feel screwed everytime I play their courses.

Nothing great. Over all a C- but I’ve never seen then over a B+

It’s a shame that Clark’s greens are in the shape they are after renovations just a couple of years ago.

Played The Island today, do not know what happened between yesterday and today, but the greens rolled really well, very smooth.

The Island is in really good shape right now, I played after the rain yesterday and course was still fine.

When I belonged there it was the best draining course in the area. Heavy rains really didn’t affect playability. Drained quick and thoroughly. Is it still that way?

Best draining course in the area, except for around the greens. Seems like that’s the only issue out there at the moment. The rest of the course is in fantastic shape.

Kosati is fantastic. Really all of those course around central LA are great. Tamaka Trails, Oak Wing, Links, etc.

There's been three positive and one negative, so I'm gonna change it's report in the OP. Maybe that one guy just had a bad day.

Any beaver updates? May play islands this week if the greens are better.

Haven't seen an update in the last few weeks. When I was there last, the greens were pretty rough, but that was two or three weeks ago.

Played BC today (8/14). Greens were smooth for the most part, just a little slow. Some of them have some bad spots on the edges that are no where near healed and some of the fringes are so thin and recovering as well. All in all, very playable. Fairways are in great shape, minus the usual ones on the back nine that hold water. Rough is very thick right now

Definitely will start venturing out more in that Direction played Tamaka a few years ago and it was nice and Kosati certainly impressed me so I'll have to give these other a shot as well..

We had a group of 28 play out there Saturday. My report is accurate. We had high expectations because of reports of them rolling nice. But that wasn’t the case. You could still see the punched holes on the green, and those indentations caused issues when putting on the green. The greens were slow and grainy, too. Maybe it was because of the recent rain and they couldn’t mow them Friday/Saturday.

I’m not trying to shite on The Island. I like the course. I’m simply giving a report on the greens this past Saturday.

The rest of the course was in ok shape. Lots of standing water in low spots, and most of the greens were surrounded by very wet, squishy areas. The rough was extremely high on certain holes where it looked like they just missed cutting on certain sides of a fairway.

Thanks for clarifying! This effort is gonna be a mixed bag since everyone’s opinion of what constitutes a good green is going to vary.
