The thing is, my mom is more catholic than most. She refuses to have any type of celebration on Good Friday because that’s the day our savior was murdered or something like that. We get together on Saturday because apparently it’s ok to do something while he’s still dead

I hear you. I'm not catholic so I don't know exactly what should/shouldn't be done but I do have some catholic friends who don't "celebrate" or do anything on Good Friday. That being said, the ones in my house like boiled crawfish and since I'm the chef in the family....
I even have a friend who's Grandmother wears all black, veil and all, and doesn't even so much as turn on a radio on GF.

Can’t golf on good Friday, the catholic church does not allow digging the soil on Good Friday ( or so the old folks say). Therefore no divots are allowed.

Janky is bitter about life. Everyone else can see a sunrise before him, watch a sunset for longer than him, not sit on phone books at the theater, etc
