Any places to play worth stopping for? Making a trip up to Shreveport tomorrow and may stop somewhere inbetween to play…

Oak Wing is in great condition. Greens are as good as I’ve seen them in 10 years.

Oakwing is in great shape. Links On The Bayou is struggling really bad. No grass growing on the greens, just dormant rolled bermuda that is sprayed green. Both courses have done a 180* turn from 18 months ago.

Its crazy how they can both flip like that. All I have heard the last year is how great links is and how bad Oakwing is. I played at Oakwing back in October an it was is good shape then.

Oakwing has improved. But Links is still in good shape. There hasn’t been any flip. Links hasn’t dropped off.

That's absolutely incorrect Sir. Links is in good shape hasnt changed much in 3 or 4 years. Growing grass in the winter is a struggle for all golf courses.

Are you really questioning someone who plays both Links and Oak Wing courses 2 to 4 times a week?

I've also heard from other people the Links greens are struggling at the moment fwiw. The Links greens will bounce back in the Spring like they always do. That piece of land is too fertile to keep it down very long.

Considering I play them both once a week as well I think I am pretty knowledgeable about the conditions. Thanks for your 2 cents though.

What do you expect in February at a course that doesn't overseed?

It's apparently not a struggle for the course that is half a mile down the road.

Links will be fine come summer, but the guy asked for a place to play this weekend. If you are saying that LTB is currently better than Oak Wing, that's insane.

You could hop over to Bossier and play Stonebridge. It's in good shape given the time of year.

I’d expect the greens to be in at least decent shape considering a lot of courses have their greens in good shape right now

I don’t know, there is some poa on the fringes, but that is really irrelevant.
