2017 LGA Junior Amateur Champion Nicholas Arcement, 17, of Thibodaux is one of the favorites this week as he looks to build on an already impressive career resume with a State Amateur Championship. Arcement, an LSU commit, finished in fourth place in the 2017 LGA Amateur. Arcement will begin his quest at 1:03 PM off #1 tee on Thursday. Arcement is currently ranked inside the top-100 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, and he is the highest ranked junior golfer in Louisiana. Arcement will have to stave off an incredibly stout field this year if he wants to win his first LGA Amateur

Saw Nick practicing at La Tour on Sunday. Kid can bring it. He shot a 64 in the High School State Championship as a freshman.

Sadly haven't played in one since back surgery. Lost too much distance off the tee to play competitively with the young flatbellies anymore.

67 was leading when I left but still had about half the field to post. Course is in great shape and some of the most difficult greens that I've played on.

Possibly. Of course my buddy who is scratch shot around 80 too. I heard the greens were a little slick. I would have shot 300.

LT ain’t an easy golf course. At least not off the tee.

I disagree. LT is quite easy off the tee. Oakbourne is much more challenging in my opinion.

I haven’t played Oakborne, so I don’t have a point of reference. But I’ve heard it’s really tight and bends a lot. LT has some holes that are generous off the tee, but some others that are pretty penal. There’s also several with some weird angles. I was just saying that a guy who carries a 2-3 handi at LT can probably golf his ball. I’ve played there 3 times from one up and think I barely broke 90 only once.

Could have just been one of those days where nothing goes right. Guy made 1 par. Sounds like a brutal round.
