Adding a 7 wood is the best thing that I have ever done. It plays great.

I see quite a few Tour guys hitting 7 woods now and even some 9 woods.

What is your opinion of the Newton Fast Motion Shaft? I have been thinking about getting one, seems like I am between the 2-3 dot. What is your club head speed?

Not sure of my speed probably in the 90mph area, I used their chart to determine which one would probably be the best fit for me. It gives you a range of driving distances to help determine which would fit you best. I'm very happy with the shaft, using a smooth swing it will keep me in the short grass and I've gained a little yardage with it.

Yeah I have to agree with this. A 7 wood is quite possibly the most useful club you can have in the bag. Now my 7 wood replaced my 3 iron..

when i went to Champ Tour deal here in Little Rock, almost every bag had a newton or two.

no 7 or 9 woods tho.

What is the reasoning behind a 5/7 wood over a hybrid?

Higher launch. Stops quicker on the green. Better out of most rough. 15+ yards longer. I find it generally easier to hit, both off the tee and out of the fairway.

Second that. 7 wood is amazing and should be tried by anyone and everyone!

I absolutely pump my 5 and 7w. I don’t carry a 3-5i anymore. May get rid of 3w too as I cannot hit it consistently. I now carry three wedges.

I'm sure they rotate clubs in and out depending on the course.

My 9 iron is somewhere in El Reno, OK because its owner was tanked and somehow left it. Have been playing same clubs without it ever since. That was 10 years ago. All I’ve updated was drivers. Wish I would’ve lost my damn putter than day haha

Yes, I got to feel the Lizard Skin grips on a club recently and will be making that switch away from the golf prides soon

There sure are a lot of new grip companies popping up. The Lizards pattern look a lot like Winn. But more tacky I bet.

I am a Tour Velvet guy, but I am really liking the non cord Z Grips on my TaylorMade irons and woods.

Yeah they remind me of the Winn a lot. If they hold up for more than 3 months then that would be a plus.

Marucci also makes a golf glove that’s supposed to complement the grip with some pretty interesting claims on balls speed and dispersion. But is that true?? Who knows. They’re trying to sell a product

Went to the old midsize brown winns and built them up into plus 4 style builds, been really happy with them. Used to hit z cords in the same build.

Ran across Bruce Bolt gloves. Bought a pair and have really liked how they hold up vs a sta-sof. They’ll be my new “good” gloves.
