Zelda Breath of the Wild questions regarding rupees, armor and ancient gear

Quick backstory, I've completed all four divine beasts and 120 shrines so I'm not just getting into the game.
However, I've decided to try and upgrade as much armor as I can, but to "free" the last great fairy it costs 10,000 rupees.
How the hell do you raise that much cash without selling the stuff you need to upgrade the armor?
Also, other than treasure chests, where do you get ancient cores? I've whipped a ton of guardians and they never drop cores.
Any tips?

Cook 5 meats at a time, then sell them. I think they sell for around 200 rupees each. It's tedious as Hell, but it keeps you from selling all your jewels that you'll need for upgrades.
Even still, farm those Stone whatchamacallits. Especially the fire ones in the Goron area. They drop a ton of gems you can sell for big bucks.
Guardians drop ancient cores. Not a high rate, but they do. Try farming them. You can also purchase them from a couple NPCs. I know one was a traveling merchant, but don't remember exactly where. Other than finding them in some chests, that's about it as far as I remember. Happy hunting.

Yeah I just farmed the bowling mini game for rupees personally. Went quick.

Not enough.
TBH by the time I got to the end game 10K rupees came pretty easy. Fallen stars took forever to farm.
How many hours have you put into the game?

I just sell diamonds. Nothing uses them, I don't think.

Yeah, mining jewels on Death Mountain is a good idea.

I never finished the last DLC. So this thread made me pick up my Switch this morning. Haven't touched it in months.
Maybe I missed it but do we still NOT have a way to backup game saves? Jesus.

I just farmed the bowling game. This trick didn't work every single time for me but it did about 80% of the time. I'd just put something on TV in the background and play in handheld mode while doing this.
LINK
You get 300 rupees per a strike and each strike takes about 1 - 2 min. Once you get the hang of it, you can probably get to your 10K in 30 - 40 min.

Well you need them to repair the champions weapons when they break. But ya just farm luminous stones, give them to the Zora and sell some diamonds he gives you.

You would actually make more by just selling the luminous stones.

Dude you just saved me a hell of a lot of frustration.
I googled the bowling thing after Rand's post and the first one that came up had you putting your right foot on a rock, lining up the Sheika sensor with the totem pole, then barely touching forward on the left joystick and finally throwing the damn thing. Needless to say it was a pain in the arse and it worked maybe 25% of the time.
I tried your way and I got a strike 75% of the time.

I had no idea there was bowling in this game.

are y'all talking about the snowball downhill bowling thing up in the mountains? I haven't picked up the game since the summer so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

Yea, this. Your best bet is to just roll into north hyrule field by the castle and take out as many guardians as possible. It's completely random, so your luck will probably change.
