Xbox Series S vs Series X

Looking to buy my first Xbox since I got my Xbox One back in 2013. Primarily I will be playing NCAA, but probably will get EA FC and NBA 2K in the fall. I won't be playing on a tv that is 4K and I mostly download every game, so is there any reason to get the Series X over the Series S?

If you don’t care about 4K and maximizing visuals, I’d go for the Series S. I have the black 1TB Series S and love it

the x. It has a lot more internal space, and allows for an internal memory card. The internal cards are nice because you dont have to transfer data from an external hard drive (which takes considerable time if its a big game).
My x has 2 TB of space (came with 1TB, and I bought a 1TB memory card), so this means I can have COD on there and not run out of space quickly

If you want to play anything else, i wouldn't get an S. It's seriously handicapped.

If he gets an S, he should FOR SURE get the 1TB edition

I think the S also allows for the expansion memory.
Personally, I just recommend getting an external hard drive and moving games back and forth as needed for playing. The expanded internal storage doesn't seem worth the cost to me.

I'd personally recommend the X every time unless you're just really on some strict budget I guess.

I got a Series S and regretted it the moment I seen the visuals on my 4K TV compared to my PS5
So I sold the Series S and bought the Series X.

Do you think you'll be getting a 4K tv anytime soon? They're crazy cheap compared to a few years ago and only getting cheaper

If you do go Series S, absolutely get the 1 TB edition. It's $150 cheaper than the X. You'll want a higher refresh rate vs. resolution anyway. 1080p/120 FPS looks a ton better than 4k/30 FPS.

I have both. I love the S. It's highly portable. It's the size of a big hardback book. I have it in a secondary room. On a smaller non-4k tv I can't tell the difference. Games load just as fast, etc. Games seem to run smoothly.
I'll admit my eyes probably aren't "4k" anymore..
The X is great, too. But the S has its place and I'm glad it exists. I tend to travel with it.

Does the S not go 120fps as often as the X? I’d assume that would be a big thing too

Ended up going this route.
Thanks for the answers from everyone.
