I've really liked it. My biggest complaint is the whole party chat interface. It is a pain in the arse to use. Having to turn on party chat after I join a party is pretty stupid.

My biggest complain is related to the party system as well. I guess it's either my controller or kinect, but plugging a mic into the controller often does not work. I have to resync the controller or turn it off and then back on for it to recognize that it is plugged in, it's quite irritating.

My main complaint is that I can't independently control the audio of snap TV when I'm playing a game

Here are some positive things I am finding. . .
quote:
3. Get a Wingman
The Xbox One's Machinima app is a thing of surprising elegance. It allows you to snap a walkthrough video to the side of the game you're playing, which means you can follow the instructions easily. Say goodbye, odious Dead Rising 3 bosses. What's more, the app will automatically load up videos that match the game you're playing, and you can run it as a companion app on your tablet or phone.
quote:
The noise-cancelling abilities of the Kinect microphones mean that you won't end up with a screaming feedback loop if you're playing a game while you Skype your granddad.
quote:
16. Take your library to a friend's house
With your profile, settings and digital purchases stored in the cloud, every Xbox One you log into becomes your Xbox One. Providing you're connected, you can play all your digitally purchased games wherever you are. But if you're committed to boxed games, you'll have to take the disc with you.

I hate how slow it takes while playing a game to go to the dashboard, click on friends, click on friends list, click on friend, and send them a party invite.
The party system sucks, why should I have to turn on party chat if I'm in a party. I hate that. Should already be on when I join. 360 party system was perfect and seamless.
Also when someone gets online how come it doesn't pop up on my screen like it would with the 360?
And sometimes it may take 2-3 times of saying "Xbox On" for it to come on...

I can kind of agree with the bumpers being "hard" to press. The problem is not that they are hard to press but that they need to be pressed from a different angle now.
UI could use some work as well. A lot of the functionality from the 360 has been removed but Microsoft is supposedly working on that.

Yea I agree too about the bumpers. You have to press them from the ends instead of from the top. Dumb.

I love it. Party system has taken a step back from the 360.
I've seen some mock ups people have made for fixing some of the UI and it looks so simple it doesn't really make sense on why they did a lot of things like they did.
I love the controller. The voice controls work great and I miss them when I go back to my 360, which is something I never thought I'd say.
Most of the negative stuff with it are all stuff that can be fixed through updates.

Agree with everything here. The party system just isn't very good right now.

My only real issue is the Xbox on feature taking a couple of attempts to work. However, I've got it down to needing to be in view of tKinnect and then it almost always works first try.
I don't party chat, so I have no issues there. I also haven't figured out how to "follow" people yet, only friend them.
Eta: I like the bumpers and my only other complaint is that Halo/Titanfall weren't launch titles. CoD is getting old as shite.

I love everything about it.
Controller
I like this one more than the 360. The bumpers are great and the rumble pack definitely adds to games.
Voice Controls
this was something I skeptical about because I had the 360kinect but they nailed it on this one. The Xbox On is a little iffy but being able to switch between games literally as fast as saying " Xbox go to Battlefield 4" is amazing and I will be going digital just so I don't have to get up and switch disc. Also watching a movie/netflix is a whole new experience. being able to pause, play, rewind and fast forward with voice makes me feel like Tony Stark. And using voice in games isn't perfect yet but it adds to the game. For instance in BF4 saying you need ammo will alert those nearby and its fun to scream that when your in a firefight.
Party System
negatives are already stated. Having to turn on party chat is a tad annoying but my biggest problem is with the voices coming through the Xbox and not my headset. Worst part is when I turn the volume up on the headset I cam hear it reach the max but the voices dont come thru.
"Snap"
I don't have a cable box yet so I can't take advantage of some of the features like snapping NFL app while watching a game. But I have snapped Netflix while playing a game. It was cool and allowed me to catch up on Psych but I wish I could mute my game so I didn't hear both. Snapping YouTube while trying to find collectables in BF was awesome too.
Future
this thing will only get better with time. All the problems can/ will be fixed with updates. Also in time we will see tons of apps adding to the experience. Games will also come but I'm pleased with the games so far and love to see what project spark offers.

You can do this through the games menu. They really need to add the option to control either one though because I enjoy playing a game while watching some sports.

Wish I could turn the volume up even more on the headset. :/

I love it so far. My only problem is really everything to do with playing with friends. Party system is wonky, doesn't show when friends are online. Luckily this is stuff they can fix.

"Xbox, go to friends"
You can use the dashboard shortcuts from in game. I'm pretty sure it works with friends too anyway, I know it works with TV. Nifty trick I learned by accident explaining what it can do to a friend.
