Seems like they are gonna push hard on games being compatible with multiple consoles rather than just the latest

Isnt that where we are at right now? There are 5 XBOX consoles out right now that can play just about every XBOX licensed game albeit maybe not very well.

Why? Their current console is already getting smoked by Sony. They should just through in the towel already.

Just because Sony is doing extremely well in console sales doesnt mean MS Xbox is doing poorly. Both are selling as fast as they can be produced and the Xbox console itself is just one part of MS's strategy to get people on board Gamepass. Are you suggesting MS should just shut down XBox all together?

Can't forget about Game Pass for PC which allows folks to play Xbox games on the latest hardware.

Do we have to go through financials, infrastructure and long term vision again

Maybe you should get on your knees and thank Xbox for dragging Sony into the next era of gaming you ungrateful bastard.

And for grins always

This is why I don't understand fanboyism. Sony s current model is awesome exclusives for $70.00. If MS pushes them to adopt some sort of Gamepass model and Sony pushes(they al ready have) Xbox to really develop some great 1st party franchises then we all win.

Funny you mention that

quote:

"Across the Xbox ecosystem, we're now reaching hundreds of millions of people every month, and our total addressable market is going to grow while others are relatively static.

"As the Xbox ecosystem grows in both content and total size, it becomes more valuable to both players and our partners. So right now, we're the only platform shipping games on console, PC, and cloud simultaneously. Others bring console games to PC years later, not only making people buy their hardware up front, but then charging them a second time to play on PC.

"And of course, all of our games are in our subscription service day one, full cross-platform included."

Spencer doesn't name Sony in his comments, but it's clear which company he is talking about here

quote:

Also, Sony does not launch its first-party PlayStation games on its rival subscription service PlayStation Now, instead preferring to add them at some point after launch.

Sony does make some good games, but they really act like a little bitch in the gaming world.

My current approach for console gaming is to get the MSFT console first with game pass then buy a Sony console after the slim is made and buy their exclusives for cheap. Currently playing HZD and absolutely loving it.

Yeah Game Pass blows everything else on the market completely away.

So elaborate on that.

Sony may be winning right now but while they're celebrating those console sales, Microsoft is throwing big dick money around and creating a monster for the future. And Sony no matter how much more they sell will never be able to keep up with Microsoft financially.
In 10 years there won't be a PlayStation division with all the moves Microsoft is making.

Once cloud gaming becomes a thing (it's inevitable), Sony is fricked because they don't have near the resources that Microsoft does to succeed in that endevor. Why do you think Nintendo is opening up communication lines with Microsoft about the future but not Sony?
