Broke, you should also be able to start a new gamertag on your xbox if you haven't done it before and you get a free month.

Yea I have one or you can start a new one and you get one month free. Just when it asks for your credit card info don't enter any and you will have a 1 month trial for the new account.

Be sure to keep on top of Microsoft. Friend of mine got hacked and she called them up 14 days in and they hadn't processed the paperwork yet.

I tried to recover my gamertag and that appears to be working. Sadly they will lock my account soon and I'll have to work out the troubles without the account.

Broke-You can't buy 1 months anymore. You get at least 3 free 1 month subscriptions just for owning an xbox--remember when I was using the name fragile then some others? That's how. Set it up as if you're just going to go silver and they'll bump it to gold for a month.

When I had my xbox my XBL got hacked. I actually had 2 gamertags, one was an old one that I never fully closed, just stopped paying per month and they closed it. Well, somehow it got hacked without me ever logging into it and I was getting charged $15-30/month from some random person. Put a stop to it quickly, they reimbursed everything that was charged and fully closed the account. The person had moved me from Opelousas to Chicago

UPDATE: After reading the Xbox forums I'm convinced I will never get my account back in good standing like it was before this incident. Some are showing 90+ days

Talked to Microsoft today and they assured me the wait time isn't as long as people are bitching about. They sent me a code to give me a month free. So I'll have a new gamertag soon.
