I'm ready to return this crap, is this normal when you buy a game?
You bought an MMO. It has a lot of updates since it released. It would have been like this on PC and Xbox One as well.
Is the update being downloaded through the game or in the background? You can check by going to the notifications tab on the home screen. Go there and go down to downloads.

Sometimes it will start off saying it will be 4 hours then drop down to like 60 minutes.
Put it in rest mode. It will download alot faster.
If you are downloading a game off the PS Store put it in rest mode. If you are playing online while trying to download a game it will take forever.
Games will say they take 4+ hours to download but most of the time you can start playing the game before it totally downloads. So it basically downloads the beginning portion of the game so you can play while the rest of the game downloads.

Ignore him, he is the new TD troll. All he does is make troll threads.
I'm being serious.

You feel that threatened by me that you have to bump this thread in the middle of the night, 21 hours after last post?
Sad life you must have.
Back on the subject: Finished DL'ing and played the opening stage(tutorial with some running around for a couple hours) If I were a developer, and I guess they don't care because you already bought the game, but I would have "no need for any major update" intro that could keep the player occupied during the typical amount of time that historically is needed 6 months down the road.
Just got a console for the first time since the original xbox. I thought console games came preloaded, and was a selling point of the console gaming system vs PC. I understand now, I just wasn't expecting it.

It is now.
PS4/Xbox/PC/Nintendo it doesn't matter what console. It's going to ship with problems and they are going to need to update or sometimes even preload data on your system before you can play. It sucks, but that's just how it is now.

Ok so not to be rude but 4 hours is not a long time what are you like 12? Also if updates are taking you 4 hours call your isp and upgrade your internet. Call of Dury recently had a 9gb update that took less than 30 Minutes for me.
