Jet, you play WoW?

Yes. As if my other posts here haven't demonstrated that.

Don't get all defensive on me.

Just wondering. I haven't played that game since The Burning Crusade in 2007.

Wow. That's about the time that I first started playing, 2 lost accounts ago. I really only started playing more regularly during Cataclysm.

I was big into it from the initial release up until the release of Wrath of the Lich King.

Only had one character. A badass undead warrior.

Just got to be too much money and time for me.

Of course, badass Hordie.

My top 2 characters are 7-foot-tall werewolf ladies.

A lot of your kind are coming back. With the 90 boost with WoD and Blizzard giving every account Vanilla through MoP for free, they're seeing subs skyrocket. I got my BoAs from Garrosh and Heroic Garrosh so I'm ready to rage tomorrow with my DK main and my Warrior alt. From everything I've read and heard, WoD is going to be one of the best expansions they've put out.

Also, feel free to add my RealID(DinoNuggets#1676) for some launch-day TD shenanigans.

I'm probably going to level my shadow priest first, though I could just as easily start with a ret, arcane, fury, elemental, destro, windwalker, feral, MM or rogue. Sigh...decisions.

You ever think about coming back, Scruffy? With the 90 boost, now is a great time.

Considering the fact that they bottomed out at 6.8 million and their subs are flying back up, they have no reason to go F2P. I'll happily pay 15 bucks a month just to keep it from being inundated with more idiot kids than it already is.

Nope. Not coming back. Don't have a computer that could run it and if I didn't have time 7 years ago, I don't have time now.

That's a negative, and I wouldn't hold your breath on it happening anytime soon either.

I believe it will happen one day, but they aren't anywhere near that point yet. Not that I am saying this is you, but people really like to pump the doom and gloom of sub declines, and refuse to recognize that WoW is still beating the ever living frick out of every other MMO that has ever been created. The recent increase in subs shows that there is still extremely dramatic interest in the game.

This is extremely true. 6.8 million is the lowest sub count that they've had in an long time, and that's still almost double what Guild Wars 2, WoW's supposed big competitor, has and it's free to play. WoW will have a paid subscription until there's a real competitor out there. Frankly, as much as people love to hate WoW, it's still the standard everyone else aspires to. I really think WoD is going to get the fever going again. Just patch 6.0.2 has everyone loving the game again, and everyone's still stuck in P.F. Chang's with the same content from a year ago.

What I'm excited for is Herald of the Titans. Big achievement for gearing an 80 and running Ulduar with only Ulduar-tier gear? That's just giving people even more reason to go back into them.

As of September it was back up over 7 million. I want to say 7.3 but I can't find the article on it now.

ETA: higher than that. 7.4 million LINK

Have an up-vote.

It is the standard for MMOs. You hit the nail on the head, until someone comes out and really challenges it, it will be the standard and the king of that gaming genre.

ETA Oh, it's WoD-launch eve!

I just built a Sky Golem to celebrate, and now I'm soloing Naxx out of pure boredom.

I've been doing achievement runs solo through old raids lately. it's been a blast. Ulduar in particular has been good times.

Ulduar and Naxx (along with Kara) are still my favorite raids of all time. They were just so fun. We used to do Drunken Naxx every Sunday where you'd have to chug a beer every boss you down and take a shot for every wipe. Always saved Heigen's wing for last to see them try to do the dance. Great times.

Aside from Warlords, I'm pretty psyched about the aniversary edition Molten Core raid. I think it's going to be fun as frick, and the rewards for completing it are awesome.
