I played it. At the time I didn't hate it, but looking back I really don't view it that favorably. Took a universe that had a solid and unique genre, and then put it in a genre which seemed unnecessary. Plenty of action-adventure games, not many third-person space shooters.

Also, Slippy is the best.

Can they do this for Other M please.

I agree. If I had a choice, I'd have them make more games like Assault, but put more effort into character development and possibly even make it a free-roam space flyer. Imagine flying from planet to planet in free roam. fricking awesome. It can be done, especially with the new gen coming out. Doubt anyone would take the time to do it though.

ETA: Looking back now, Adventures looked pretty damn good to be running on a GameCube. I'm actually pretty impressed with these screenshots.

So basically give starfox the WindWaker treatment.

Pretty much, except there would be enemies. It could definitely work. You could throw in a few on-rails travel sequences, but fighting in all-range mode was always more fun for me, anyway. The "Independence Day" level is still my all-time favorite from 64. I would intentionally scrub up the first two levels just to do it.

You can usually tell from the "cartoony" look. Cell shading is the art style.

Oh. I get it. I thought it was a weird look for Zelda. Not too crazy about the look.

It's definitely the least-optimal system for FPS. If you have a choice go with either sony or microsoft.

I like a good Metroid title when they exist. Super Metroid, Fusion, and the Prime Trilogy are some of the best games made imo.

Oh, also Fire Emblem. shite is amazeballs.

It is one of Nintendo's faults. They focus so much on the A games, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, that they forget the great First Party B Games:

Metroid
Fire Emblem
Star Fox
F-Zero
Advance Wars

I guess Kirby goes A, and we are FINALLY getting another standalone DK title, so that's nice. DK, lately, has been B mostly.

If they released a major release of each one of those all on the same platform for once, you'd probably have the greatest console ever not named the Gameboy Advance.

Yea and I haven't played zelda yet, just some of luigi. I'm a sucker for Zelda but I don't really want to start a big game like that while playing gtav and about to start arkham origins. This is the year of open world games I feel like. I almost hope ac4 and watch dogs bomb so I don't have to worry about them

For whatever reason, Metroid can't sell for shite in Japan. I fricking love it and it is a pretty solid seller out west, but people in Japan don't support it.

Fire Emblem: Awakening was allegedly the last one they planned to make, but it was absolutely amazing and received a lot of support. I think they might have noticed.

I haven't bought one in a while, but I'd love a new Advanced Wars game. They had the Fire Emblem-esque turn based strategy, but the ability to constantly supply new units changed things a bit. Plus you could take more risks as losing a unit wasn't like losing a character.

F-Zero and Star Fox are just getting ignored by Nintendo. Throw in Earthbound as well.

I'm excited DK has been getting some love and I'm excited for the new Yoshi's Island game.

Rare made Star Fox: Adventures. They're the ones that attempted to give Star Fox a story. Even if it wasn't initially intended to be a Star Fox game, it worked. It gave the Star Fox fanbase a taste of what Star Fox could be with character development. Last I heard Nintendo was offering to give a studio the rights to Star Fox to make another game. Command sucked so bad Nintendo made it not cannon, so it could start from Assault or do a reboot. Either one would sell.

Honestly, Star Fox Adventures was a terrible call. They should have made it its own franchise instead of combining it with Star Fox. It was a good game, but there was no reason Star Fox should have had anything to do with that game.

It's funny you should mention them choosing Wind Waker for a HD remake over other Zelda titles. Here is a portion of an interview with Zelda series director Eiji Aonuma that recently came out about Toon Link being more accepted this time around:

quote:

While Nintendo stuck to its guns following The Wind Waker, the negative fan reaction to the game had Nintendo go back to a more realistic art style for The Twilight Princess. "We had that negative reaction to that art style and then we did a 180, thinking 'maybe this is what the fans want,'" Aonuma admitted. "It wasn't just that in terms of the direction of the art style for Twilight Princess, but I think that was a big influence."

Nintendo experimented with an HD port of Twilight Princess Given Twilight Princess' more realistic graphics, wouldn't it have been a better fit for an HD remake? Instead, Nintendo decided to focus its efforts on remastering The Wind Waker for Wii U. Aonuma told us that they actually did experiment with making HD versions of Wii's Zelda games, but they didn't have the transformative effect they wanted.

"Certainly, we tried. We did a test of Twilight Princess in HD. But it didn't turn into a new thing. It looked better, it looked cleaner, and it looked like a master version of the game," he said. "But with Wind Waker, it really changed into something different--it changed into that really-looking-like-a-cartoon style we were aiming for, but we couldn't because of the Gamecube's power."

In fact, the HD version of Wind Waker may be part of why the game is so well-received today. "I think now, the reason why people are enjoying it so much, that's a part of it."

I wish they would've released a HD version of TP, but I more have respect for them that they didn't make it if it didn't truly transform the game. Shows that they care about the product more than just making money

Sorry, can't link bc on phone.

It has the big one in Call of Duty. There's also a 007 game on there.

But the other consoles will definitely have a lot more options for you.

They are just as good as their Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 counterpart. (The several they have available)

The Gamepad will also allow you to free up the television so you can take the fight onto the Wii U gamepad.
