Why third person is more realistic than first

because in first person you cant see peripheraly....3rd person allows you to see what a real pesron sees..(except for a back or back shoulder)...I typically find that 3rd person shooters have more realistic gameplay but have less detailed graphics than first person...3rd person games are much more fun to play and repetition is minimal.....BRING BACK SOCOM....

I don't get how seeing yourself, or your player's body, is more realistic than seeing everything from inside the character's head. Especially since you can turn your head any way you want in first person.

Maybe it is more realistic, if during all shootouts I have this fricktard who continually stands in front of me blocking my direct vision. I'll take direct over peripheral any day. Oh yea and it's a game, it doesn't need to be that realistic.
In all reality if there were 8 fully equipped, trained, no recoil shooting soldiers, military helicopters with incredible accuracy, and predator missiles flying up asses, I would hide like a bitch as I'm sure most everyone on this board would.
