Why does Nintendo hate money?

How much longer do we have to suffer the lack of a windwaker remaster?
I'm tired of of these rpg slop games for the switch. Give me windwaker.

They artificially inflate the value of those games and systems on purpose.
Easy to pull out of the bag if they ever are cash poor. Heres windwaker rewinds edition thatll be 120 dollars standard and 130 to use your switch 2 power
The remake of ocarina is going to cost 100 dollars and theyre going to botch it because nintendo thinks botw is the greatest game ever made and is flawless which is why mario cart used its map copy paste and even metroid got a taste.
If theyre smart theyll make hyrule field like 1/20th the size open world as botw with zoned off segments as it should be.
"Oh wanted your goron sword huh? And it had a timer to get it there? Sorry the world is gigantic youre gonna be late friend."

Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda and one of my favorite games of all time....
But a real OOT remake will make way more money. WW is usually far down favorite lists across the board, it's the furthest from the core design principles and visuals from OOT onwards. It's the hardest to remake because I do think the Ocean will feel small compared to modern open world games. And it's complicated the timeline more than most as they've leaned into BotW.
I think it's on the dockett after this, but i can see why they went with OOT in the 2nd year of the Switch 2. It will be a huge boost, and the timing is right.

Ocarina of Time remake is the kind of game that will get guys in their 40’s to go out and buy a Switch 2 mainly just to play OoT.
WW is pretty low on most people’s list of favorite Zelda games.

Hell, it's going to get my 71 year old mom to buy a Switch 2.

I got fairly into WW when it came out last year with the Switch 2's GCN library on the Nintendo Classics titles.
A BOTW-sized Wind Waker game would be pretty epic.

Only if the world is appropriately filled out. One of my biggest problems with WW was that the world felt incredibly empty. Very few unique, interesting islands to explore. Several reused/overdone concepts like the reefs. Even back then I thought the world felt underwhelming.

Botw was so good but it’s poisoned this franchise
Now everything into the future until the heat death of the universe botw Zelda game design will be unchanged
A botw wind waker sounds really bad to me. Botw did scale and freedom and it did it so fricking well.
Some things can be smaller and have a nice sized sea area with handcrafted and highly polished zones/areas/whatever overtake that botw scale map because scale and freedom isn’t the point of wind walker
Nor is the it the point of ocarina, in fact it’s the polar opposite of it where you warp around. That game should have anti botw game design

I think you could overcome that by adding a swim/dive mechanic and Zora villages underwater.

Nintendo took six years to add the worst underworld level ever in Totk while being untethered from needing to even make a new primary map.
What makes you think they could do that with quality?
Idk I’m a bit proponent of just for
90% of games every year at least if not 95% leaving us with a few spectacles that all of them should be focusing on making games with smaller scopes and prioritizing gameplay and optimization not graphics or raw power.
We have reached diminishing returns. Sony doesn’t even know when they’ll do a ps6 because no one needs one
The upgrade cycle is crashing to a stop

It's not like BOTW/TOTK were trash games. Yes, there's an argument to be made that TOTK is an iterative improvement of BOTW and is a gigantic, glorious expansion and not a justifiable standalone game.
I'm just spitballing on something they haven't done before in context of explaining the wide open spaces for Wind Waker.
Zelda has arguably been Nintendo's tentpole franchise since Odyssey faded from public view. They could absolutely do much of anything they set their minds to. Hardcore underwater Link is something they haven't tried yet.

I feel you.
I added an edit about what is driving my thought process on this partly as well

I agree wholeheartedly. I have zero interest in bothering with a PS5 because I hadn't played my PS4 for more than an hour in years.

Sony has sucked so fricking bad this gen last numbers I saw estimated 45% of their user base is still on ps4
They’re totally at the mercy of gta6 to get them to move
I have been a PlayStation guy since ps1 but they have been fricking worse than Xbox even maybe at first party games on ps5
They should pray daily third party saved them bigly with stuff like rebirth ff16 stellar blade and and soon phantom blade zero

I'm more surprised they didn't announce a mario game..
Obviously with the anniversary of Zelda they felt like they had to do something (and I am glad because Ocarina is gonna rock), but its been 9 years since a 3d platform mario.

i mean techinically BOTW and TOTK felt empty too. Beautiful sprawling landscape but was not nearly as engaging as i thought it would be.
I'm still torn on both of those games to be honest. I did have fun playing them but never finished TOTK and have never felt like i needed to even go back and try BOTW again.
They are just to big for me to want to pick them up and start over. Similar to some of the recent assassins creed games. Enjoyed them but at times a bog, but hard to want to replay.
Ocarina was played probably 10 times

Yeah, I've been deeply disappointed in Sony for this cycle.

The more I think on it, the more I think Mario Odyssey may be my favorite game of all time. I just don't see how they can go so long without creating a new 3D Mario, especially on a new system.
