I have seen a few videos of people playing and I think I am edging to buying it now. Def with the pokeball controller.

There’s battles, just not wild ones.

Also, the soundtrack is fricking amazing. Listen to the champion theme. It’s amazing.

Yeah, most people on here are mad there aren't ANY battles. There's still plenty of trainer battles looks like!

I've watched it some on twitch, and it looks like a lot of fun. I might pick it up soon.

I just realized this...

How does the poke ball controller charge?

It comes with a cord to plug in to the Switch. Same cord you charge the pro controller with.

What about the pokeball controller makes you want to spend the extra money for it?

You skip Silver/Gold/Crystal? You just miss the GOAT Pokémon generation games.

You have a pokeball that works...and plays all the sound bytes from the og gen for ea pokemon. And it is compatible with Go.

The game is actually really fun. It’s more casual and can be a breeze to play, but you can make it harder if you take the OP starter out. I bought the Pikachu edition and I switch out my party a ton to keep things fresh. I’m about 16 hours in and have 6 of the 8 badges. There’s a lot to see and while I never played Pokémon GO, it is still fun to catch new Pokémon you see, even without the battling in the wild. I picked up Platinum for my old DS the other day to scratch the more traditional Pokémon itch. It’s a good complimentary.

No option to battle wild Pokémon anymore, you have to catch the Pokémon to gain XP for your party.

I would think this would be such an incredibly easy thing to switch on. Like a difficulty level or something. It seems like it would take so little coding to make it so you get to battle the wild pokemon. I wonder if it could be modded to do so.

So you liked grinding and switching your party every match?

Got it and have really enjoyed it. Played red/blue through to crystal. Nostalgia around every corner. A lot of people complaining about not being able to battle wild Pokémon but I don't really miss it. There are a ton of trainers to battle on every route. Seeing the to scale pokemon roaming around is probably my favorite part of the game. I also like that I can get through grass and avoid them if I want to.

My main worry to start was getting over leveled but every once in awhile I've been mixing in some lower level ones to get them some XP. I've rarely been more than a few levels higher than who I'm battling which I've liked. I didn't want to breeze right through.

I've got 4 badges so far and trying to slow play it. If I get to an area of grass with pokemon I don't leave it until I've caught any and all new ones.

Ok. I got the game.

This is definitely a better way to advance through the world. Leveling up through battles, and catching 1 of each pokemon.

Every bit of XP you earn is from some version of work to build a good team, earn a badge, and study pokemon in the world.

No need to battle wild pokemon.

It also helps you can avoid pokemon in the wild. That was alwaus broken in the originals. See speedrunners...

I caved and bought it.

Mostly heard nothing but good things about the game and think it would be a good option for me and the SO for casual game nights.
