It's so that everyone pays for their game before midnight. That way you can show back up at 12 and the line goes quick as frick bc they don't have to make any transactions. All they do is highlight your recipt.
So yes. You can leave. It's way better than the way they used to do it without the check in.

Then I spent 45 min on the phone with their 800 number trying to get them to refund my out of pocket cost for the towing.

The Gamestop here. Festivities start at 6pm with pizza and a MW3 tourney starts at 8pm. I'll be at work for all of that. Hopefully I get off in time to pick it up otherwise I'll have to get wife to pick it up.
Your work schedule sounds a lot like mine except I normally work at night. 5am to 5 pm.
