Seems like steam is flooded with those

And most seem to be the open, craft, survival game

Are there any early access games worth it or is it just a ploy to deliver crap for money?

I got h1z1 and the long dark but that's it

Those types of games are hot right now.

Everyone's trying to get on the Minecraft success bandwagon, with a twist of their own.

This is what I'm hearing in most cases. You basically pay them money to test their beta and hope that maybe, one day they will have a "finished" product. That's my understanding anyway. I haven't yet braved those waters. Maybe someone with personal experience can provide better insight

I bought early access DayZ and thought it was one of the worst "games" I had ever played. Never again.

I've bought a few early release games and enjoy then. I like being able to play a game while it is in development. I play them for a while, get bored, and revisit them after they get updated.

Early access is a good concept turned into a scam.

dayz is at least being "updated" constantly, although it really seems like each update breaks something new.

dont know why they didnt just make a new engine for it.

I would agree and I can see your point, I just can't shake the feeling of "why am I paying you to test your unfinished product"

I'm sure one will appeal to me enough that I purchase early access eventually though

Generally speaking, the incentive to make a game is to make money. Where's the incentive to finish the product if the game is already copies despite being unfinished?

I have DayZ, H1Z1, and 7 Days To Die. I got my money out of all of them and still play all of them here and there.

Actually think I'm gonna pick up theHunter: Primal any day now it's EA too, I feel like hunting some TRex's

no idea most of them are freaking zombie games. I wasted money buying Dayz wish i had that money back now.. Its more like a walking sim then a game.

Stranded Deep is a new EA title but feels pretty polished for a new release. I have enjoyed my time with it

For the person talking about TheHunter : Primal.....
It is fun for a while but it eventually starts to get old because there is only 3 types of dinos at the momoent. No crafting and a LOT of walking and searching for decent weapons to hunt with.

I played it with three other people. It started all three of us out at random points in the map and we spent 3 hours looking for each other.

I still like DayZ a lot, had a big patch yesterday too adding a lot of more stuff including canoes and a new island. They're at least still consistently working on it and putting out big updates adding a lot of stuff.

H1Z1 is pretty fun too.

Can't say I haven't been happy with the early access games I've bought, and I bought theHunter: Primal today about to try it out.

I really enjoyed Rust a lot. I haven't played in a couple of months since I'm moving, but when I did there were regular updates. Was a great game and my friends and I easily wasted entire weekends figuring out ways to raid other people's crafted bases
