The main thing that gets anchored on this board are the "I'm getting online, who's in?" or "so-and-so, I just pwn3d u with that noobtoob, lol" threads. Those are annoying, I will admit that. But I participate in MANY a MW2 thread. And not just "Xbox" threads (I'm not even sure what you mean by that). shite, this thread isn't even console-specific. Am I allowed to post in it, boss?

I think it's pretty legit, and most people I've seen agree. But even if I hated it, that still wouldn't change the fact that it's one of the biggest new releases in gaming history. I mean shite, the money it made in its first day was the largest amount in entertainment history (games, movies, whatever...). That speaks a good bit as to how popular/anticipated it was.

I think its a good game not great but I know people that put it to the side and play World at War instead. Now I havent played that game but Im not a fan of the basic RPG they built into this game. It seems like they built in a bit of WoW into the game. And it sucks people in the same way. Not to say that both are not great games but they are built to feed on the addictive qualities on the simulated success.

The only addictive properties are
A) Enjoying dominating games with your friends.
B) Getting to the point where you usually do very well, and unleashing hell on the other team.
WoW is a game that constantly adds new content that rewards you with things that are better and better. There's none of that in MW2 once you hit 70 and prestiging doesn't give you better guns.
Where exactly is the comparison?

No Im talking about the built in MMORPG of MW2.
The designers did it on purpose. The whole level up and prestige thing along with equiping weapons creating your class etc... This doesnt seem a little WoW to some of you?? Hell they even set the top levels the same as what WoW used to be. Its a brilliant model to make $$$$ if you ask me but Im not a fan of how it takes over your life.
