You have so many better options for PC, which is why he probably doesn't suggest it.

The SHP9500 run great without needing to be amplified, which makes them great for consoles

Honestly, it's probably because I'm cheap and don't game as much as I used to. Perfectly fine for what I do. Probably won't even build another gaming PC. So stuck with what I can play on a RTX 2070, i5-9600K, 16GB RAM, 2K monitor.

correct

it's fine for PC but there are just so many more options available. I feel like guys that run PCs will also want to be a little more adventurous with their audio setups. A little more money goes a long way in terms of customization and tuning your setup to your personal preferences.

I kinda died inside when I decided to spend what I did on my setup, but I'm glad I did it. Any time I play with new people, the first thing I get is "holy shite how do you sound so clear?"

I've gone through so many of the headphones in mad lust envy's headphone gaming guide under $300 and the k701 have been my favorite by a good margin

Razer Kraken Gaming Headset

I wasn’t looking for anything too pricy since I was buying a second pair for a good friend, but this is what I ended up going with. Sound quality and mic quality are what I need for not a terrible price (~$50 on sale from 80 something). When I want to splurge on something nicer in the future I will definitely be revisiting this thread, but yeah the Razer is a good budget option, comfortable, and the construction is solid (made in Vietnam, not China, which is another plus).

I've been enjoying my Sennheiser 58X and Modmic setup.

I loved my modmic before it just stopped working for some reason :(

That's the only reason I switched to the at2020

I haven't felt the need for an amp. My senns run on like 50% volume.
