My personal answer to the OP:

Mega Man 3

Should've been the GOAT of the series. Better than MM2. But the slowdown all over the game killed it. It's everywhere, on every boss and throughout a shitload of levels. They tried to do WAY too much.

Superman 64.

I'm one of the biggest Superman fanboys out there and I have no qualms in declaring this game to be utter dogshit

The system it was played on was top notch at the time and you would still go what the frick when playing it. It's that shitty.

What about the Atari 2600 Superman?

That is some cutting edge tech.

I've always preferred Call of Duty multiplayer over Halo's so I'm fine with that

The ET debacle was icing on the cake for Atari's demise and the industry's near-fatal stroke. It started with the abortion of a classic arcade adaption they called Pac-Man.

Vanguard was a billion times worse than the SW:G murder.

It was a really ambitious game that was created by the minds behind EQ that left when Sony went to the expansion pack of the week model. Founded their own group and had a great and promising product in the pipes.

Lead guy sold out and allowed the company to be bought out by SOE, who was nervous about it negatively hitting EQ's share.

Sony immediately fired half of the programmers, and released a buggy mess to market that pushed all of the early adopters away.

Almost impossible.

Mega Man 2 is the best of the series and one of the best platformers ever made.

The Matrix. It was released at the peak of gaming companies paying off mags/websites to push their product. All you heard was how awesome the game was. After its release, I remember the high end alien gaming computer had a hard time running it.

Really?? I love Mega Man 3. I think 2 is my favorite but 3 is just a hair behind it. I remember getting it for Christmas and ignoring my family while beating the robot masters, only to realize you also had to fight the robot masters from 2, which blew my mind at the time.

I know there's some slow down but it's not enough to really ruin the game for me.

The slowdown is absurd. Like you have to learn to deal with it all throughout the game. Play the Spark Man level if you don't remember. It's outrageous

E.T. gets a lot of the blame for sinking Atari, but I think it was just the final tipping point. Atari had already shown it was content with shoveling out crap software as quickly as possible with rushed ports like Pac-Man.

The Virtual Boy was a pretty embarrassing failure for Nintendo. They rushed it to market so they could focus their development resources on the N64. It also had the potential to cause eye damage so all games would ask the player if they'd like to take a break every 30 minutes.

The Dreamcast should probably be mentioned as well. I know it was a great system for its time (I still own mine) but it was the final nail in Sega's coffin and they've never been the same company since.

Bright Man isn't in MM3. Do you mean Spark Man?

I just found a YouTube video. Someone overclocked an emulator at 150% to fix the slowdown
