From PVE I love it. The throwing knife is one of the most satisfying things in the game. Though, the strength stat is worthless when it instantly recharges after a critical kill.
The Hunter's melee is almost worthless in crucible, even when powered up. That is why I don't want to buy the crucible legendary armor. I want stuff with intellect and discipline.

I guess I should have added that I'm playing as a Blade Dancer at the moment, lol. So no throwing knife fun I traded that in for the ability to shred through rooms full of enemies with my super.

I'm hoping the third subclass, once unlocked, just lets you mix and match what you want.
Blade Dancer + throwing knife = unlimited fapping

I didn't either.
Also, once you power up the blade dancer to send out the shockwave when you hit RT, it is just beastly. I love getting charged by waves of enemies at that point. All the kills!

Because you need to hold onto the blades to perform stunning pirouettes. Kind of hard to do that when you throw the knife at other people.

Especially whenever you use the talent that increases the time of Blade Dancer whenever you kill an enemy. Using that with the AoE talent with groups of enemies makes it seem endless at certain points.
I love popping it while farming on Venus where the vex and fallen are having that constant battle and they have the huge spawn every so often and just jacking all the kills. You can kill 30+ enemies with it no problem.
Although during heroics it can be a bit tougher to use since you get damaged a lot easier and the enemies shoot a lot better.

Lol, what about that stops the knife from magically regenerating itself just like it does with Gunslinger?

The bladedancer blade is made of light. Not interchangeable with the throwing knife. It is a different blade altogether.

It is a much larger blade, and has the hand guard at the top of the handle.
Plus, you don't have to have a hand cannon equipped to do the golden gun
