Good, bad, indifferent?

Anyone played long enough to rank it with the others? Where's it better? Worse?

High water mark for AC games for me was black flag. Haven't played one since after hearing bad revies on the newer ones.

19hrs into the game.

It is above Black Flag for me but really need to stop doing all the damn side quests and start progressing forward in the story. What this game really has going for it is Egypt. Egypt is just cool to run around in during that time period.

I really love it. Egypt is an amazing setting. Best AC game in years. Part of the holy trinity with AC 2, AC 4, and now Origins. The fricking water on the Nile River is just amazing.

I’m really enjoying it. It doesn’t play like previous games, in a good way. Battle is definitely improved and more difficult. Battle is more Witcher-ish.

for me, it starts SLOW.

but, it gets good pretty quick. the new combat system takes a bit to get used to. but all in all, I like it

POrbably ny game of the year so far (I don’t have a Switch :( )

It fits what I want to do perfectly.

The only problem is a huge pet peeve for RPGs isnkevelnprogression. I want to do everything at the right level and I level up too quickly. I’ve skipped over soooo much just sticking to some of the missions I’m going to be super overpowered when I come back to them.

Also, the game is huge. Absolutely gigantic and filled with stuff like temples and forts and stuff. But I’m skipping that till I finish up missions.

This. It's the best next gen AC by far, but the whole game is the little side quests until you get to the last couple of hours where they dump a ton of (mostly good) story on you.

I like it a lot. The Ezio games are by far the best story and settings of the series. I would love to see those locations and characters with current gameplay and game structure.

Origins is a great reboot of the way the game is constructed. Side quests are much better than anything that came before. Leveling up is also done well. They had leveling up in Syndicate, too. The story so far is decent but not on the level of an Ezio.

Fighting is completely different and you'll die now if you get overrun or outclassed. I still haven't figured out to effectively block or parry and I'm maxed out at level 40. It's refreshing that you can't just go in and hack everybody to death easily. It's made taking over the forts a real challenge where you have to scout the area and pick your best approach. There's no medicine option so if you start to lose you better man up or run.

Top to bottom this is probably the best game in the series. Ezio stories are the most nostalgic and remain my favorite gaming experience ever. I would encourage anybody that hasn't played Syndicate (and even Unity) to give it a shot. Really good game with fun characters and a cool setting.

The game is great, I was done with Assassins Creed but my buddy let me borrow his copy and now I'm hooked. Egypt is a great setting and the change in combat does a lot. The game took a lot from Dark Souls and The Witcher and it's better for it.

If BotW didn't release this year, AC: Origins might also be my GOTY.

I'd like to finish BoTW because I feel that would be my hands down GOTY. As of right now, Horizon all the way. DLC is solidifying that.

BotW is GOTY with no other competition. But I have a feeling im a little bias being a Zelda and Nintendo fan.

Horizon Zero Dawn I never finished. My Pro was flooded during Harvey. Never picked another one. AC: Origins grabbed me from the start which didn't happen with Horizon. Maybe Origins having the ancient Egypt sitting on the side is a bonus.

The game map is enormous and the detail is once again incredible. Fighting style is completely revamped and I get killed much more often than I used to. I'm level 34 and there are still enemies I can't touch. The game progresses very slowly then takes off at too fast of a pace IMO. I just did two missions back to back and I'm now almost done with the main story. I need to break away because I have a ton of side stuff left to accomplish.

It's fun. I'm all about the narrative parts of games and really dove in the past assassin's creed games. But I don't like how the story is told in this one plus all the side quest that you can do at any point, I don't know what's going on in the story. I've been skipping cut scenes which I would never normally do. Exploring is so much fun. It's way bigger than black flag and more fun in my opinion

Jesus, the quest with Shadya.

Beat it the other day. Best AC. The exploration was better and more satisfying than BOTW. Kinda got worn out with all the question mark POIs like Witcher 3, but otherwise I had a blast.
