quick resume for multiple games is a solid selling point for me.

What the frick is "Smart Delivery"?

I'm thinking an updated form of "Stand-By/Background Downloads".

PS5 sub is melting, since the github leak only had it at 9.2 teraflops lol. will be an epic fail if thats what they release. they will have to go all in on exclusives as the marketing device

Sounds like PS5 is current Navi (Little) and XBOX is next-gen Navi (Big).

That would be wild, idk if I believe this to be the case. Maybe the leaked GitHub is some development console with current Navi architecture since Big Navi is just "scaled-up" Navi. Since it will be the same architecture with same instruction set, guessing a lot of engineering can be done outside of power delivery and thermals.

Teraflops is a unit of processing speed.

The rest is just marketing non-sense. Like back in the day when Sega heavily advertised that the Genesis had "Blast Processing", a term they just completely made up.

False

Ray Tracing is an actual graphic rendering term. It's used in movies and takes a lot of processing power to render in video games.

You know nothing

Are playing.

You can keep one app suspended on the current Xbox/PS4

Would be nice to be able to switch between multiple suspended apps and not have to cold load the game completely

That seems like an extremely wasteful use of resources, no?

Not if they are available to be used.

Yeah, but what it sounds like you are talking about having multiple games "suspended" or partial game assets loaded/cached to shorten initial load times when switching between games?

That takes up resources that could be used, seems wasteful on budget items like consoles.

But it is marketing non-sense. Most of those are most likely just improvements to existing systems and processes. The reason it is goofy has to do with companies marketing these updates to existing systems as a new concept or technology. But in reality, it is just version 2.0. No problem, but goofy.

I mean you can close shite out if it bogs performance. But if it doesn't, it is a significant bonus to a guy like me who plays different shite constantly

Awesome, specs sure do look that way!

Idk that was a rumor, kinda a dumb strategy to release to consoles within the same year(ish).

It's not the same situation when the revised consoles released.

From what I understand they want to undercut MS.

PS5 is going to be $399, PS5 Pro and Xbox One X at $499.

I get that, but vram would still have to be loaded each launch/load. Maybe you can load some assets within system memory (if it's not an SoC that doesn't share memory with GPU). Then the easily doable and already implemented to a certain extent on PC, leaving some map assets in drive cache?

Idk.

Yeah, same here. If it doesn't work it's way into one of my podcasts news section, idk about consoles.

I do keep up with the Nintendo consoles, but not the normie ones.
