most fun I've had playing a Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.
Same. To be fair I only played the Link between Worlds or whatever is on 3ds and some of wind waker since MM/OOT. To me - I'm not sure I can ever go back and play the others now with the experience I've had with this one in a week. I'm just not sure they will interest me.
I think Nintendo could just use this same engine and build another Zelda with another story and it would just be a money printing machine. I'm not through with this game but I'm in for the next one already.

I followed that fricking letter no less than 5 times. All for 300 fricking rupees and that little girls mom throwing shade at her daughters new boyfriend

after seeing a particular memory it dawned on me
there's been no mention of the tri-force

I think Ganon's powers and desires are now well beyond that of the Triforce. He no longer needs it to destroy the world. I don't think he has the mind any longer to know what to do with it in any regard.

no, it makes sense that he's a monster well equipped enough to accomplish domination and destruction, but i just thought it was so weird
1. that there's been no mention of it, and
2. i didn't notice that

I've seen a bunch of speculation about that.
One theory is that Ganon holds the triforce in this timeline and that is why he keeps being resurrected. Hence why zelda and link never mention it.

I don't think he even needs the Triforce due to Demise's curse on Link, Zelda, and (presumably but not confirmed) Groose. Ganon is now Demise's hate and malice as a pure unstoppable force.
I just think he's become so pure and corrupt evil at this point that he no longer has a mind. I think he remembered the Guardians and Divine Beasts taking him out the time before, but I don't think he has any true memories of who he once was.
All he wants to do is destroy, and that's really it. Kind of like the demons from "Princess Mononoke", which this game clearly takes a lot of influence from.

I thought I'd contribute a guide here for those preparing to take on Guardians.
At some point in time, you'll probably want to be able to wipe out Guardians quickly on your way to defeat Ganon.
To do that, you'll first need to hunt the enemies a bit more methodically. Here are some of the helpful tips I've come up with during my gameplay. Note: I'll be referring to the Guardians with legs as Crawlers and the Guardians stuck in the ground as Sentries. (I don't have any tips for the drones because I don't fight them.)
1. Stasis+: Upgrading your stasis will help you against Guardians for a number of reasons. Upgrading it gives you the power to freeze enemies, including Guardians in time (albeit very temporarily). Going into stasis mode gives you a quick and easy way to survey your surroundings and distinguish living Guardians from the dead ones, as well as seeing them more easily in the environment. In battle, the quick pause can allow a few quick hits or be a life-saver if you get in trouble. Finally, it is extremely helpful in "Major Test of Strength" shrines, which help by giving you ancient materials and ancient weapons.
2. Ancient Weapons: Technically, you could probably beat a Guardian to death with a tree branch but it would take a really really long time and you'd probably break every tree branch in you inventory trying to do it. Instead, the preferred method is to use ancient or guardian weapons. Really though, anything 40+ damage should be a good option for taking them down. The Master Sword is also an option at least in Hyrule Field where it glows blue. Just be prepared to lose plenty of weapons.
Ancient arrows are great for one-shot kills, just make sure to aim directly at the Guardians eye or you may waste arrows. My strategy is to use arrows as a defense if I get in a tight spot. Sentries can be taken down with a Guardian axe fairly easily.
3. Aim for the legs: On Crawlers, aiming for the legs can effectively turn them into Sentries. An added bonus is that chopping the legs disrupts them from shooting you with their laser. Just make sure to get every leg to completely remove thier mobility, and be careful not to accidentally walk under them when they're knocked into the air, as they apparently have a blaster on their underside as well.
4. Blind spots: All Guardians can be snuck up on from their blind sides. I've yet to be able to perform a sneakstrike, but it could be possible. It is especially easy though to avoid a Sentry's gaze. Study the movement of the Sentry's head and see how it scans the environment. You want to make sure that you get on the opposite side of the middle of that range. Some sentries I've been able to hack them to death without them ever being able to turn their head towards me and some seem to whip it around as soon as you start attacking. Its trial and error.
5. Guardian Resistant: So far, I've found 4 pieces of Guardian-resistant armor. Three of those pieces (a headpiece, chestpiece and pants set) require 2,000 rupees each and a sackful of ancient materials. The other (a headpiece) requires 1,500 rupees and 3 diamonds. I won't spoil the locations of these.
6. Home Turf Advantage: When surveying, make sure you know where cover is and lure Crawlers to an area where you can easily get cover and recharge your Stasis+, heal yourself, switch weapons etc. This also helps to chop off their legs without necessarily being in their view.
7. Shields: It is crucial to bring along a full inventory of shields on your hunt, preferrably in the 10-25 range so you're not wasting more valuable shields. Shield parrys can actually kill a Guardian in about 3 shots if you can time it right and know how to execute it properly. otherwise, shields are great last-ditch options to defend yourself in a tight spot. The shield will be destroyed on one hit, but you won't lose any hearts.

nice guide.
there is definitely a head piece, that is guardian resistant, and can be found in the wild for free .
it requires diamonds to upgrade. not sure any rupees are involved in this transaction so that's why I am confused as to if you included this item or not.

I mean 10,000. You're told that right when you get off the Plateau so I figured that was safe.

That must be a different item that I have not yet come across. This one requires you to bring diamonds to someone and pay $1,500 for the "labor" in crafting it.

I lay waste to guardians. I can one hit kill them but stasis rune + regular arrows + the master sword make pretty short work of them.

Awesome.

It's a wasteland but in this one tiny sliver there's a giant sword statue and a rare one time weapon underneath it, a white haired lynel and Faron

Oh. Woops.
I meant Farosh ? The electric one green one
Guess he makes his way around but he for sure just appeared and then cycled back to this waterfall I'm on that an npc told me to come to. Also the reason so much lightning is in this area I suspect
