They were going to go anyway pretty much how Ellie was given the ok to go and kill Abby. They knew it was pointless anyway to try and stop them

Because Joel has to die for shock value.
And then you have to play as a tranny that you hate to hunt down a character you like. And Mocap-frick the game developer

No one is gay in the game except the one person who was in the first game that we all loved. I don’t care for homosexuality in anything that I watch or play unless it has a direct meaning in the story.

Agreed. I held off playing it for so long because of everything being said. It was a good game if you like the genre. I was looking for woke things to hate and don't really remember any. I'm sure they were there but they didn't leave any kind of lasting impression for me.
The whole "tranny" thing is completely overblown. She was a straight white chick. She even had a nude scene with a guy. She was a little more muscular than I would expect a woman without steroids to be, but for a video game it's a non issue.
The first game was fine to me but not one of my personal GOATs. I don't like zombie games so I was slow to start both of these. I didn't really care that they killed Joel which I understand is a big deal to many. It set up a reason for the sequel and it was a good story. I liked seeing the same story from two completely different angles. I probably won't play either game a second time but I enjoyed each playthrough.

I think it would've been a more interesting story if Joel, Abby, and Ellie could've some how become close during the game and at then raise the tension as Abby discovers the truth about Joel and killing him in the end.

The problem with that is that it kind of turns Abby into an irredeemable monster. When she killed Joel she knew absolutely nothing about him other than that he killed her dad. And yea sure Joel saved her arse but you could tell as soon as she learns who they are Abby starts to have internal conflicts and by the time they were at the cabin all she saw was rage just like Ellie when she mowed down Abby’s friends

That's a fair point. Perhaps her finding out puts her in a state of doing something fricked up.that get Joel killed...she loses her shite and accidentally kills him. Idk...I got the point of the story I appreciate it but still didn't "like" it if you get what I'm saying. Its like Alien 3.
