Just a heads up, I saw The Division 2 was on sale for 5 bucks at Gamestop until the 15th. Never really gave much thought about picking it up, but for that price why not give it a shot.

For $5, it's an easy buy. Especially if you're just gonna play the campaign. Repetitive gameplay but it's a steal for that price.

I guess since they're basically giving the game away, it can't be doing all that well from a population perspective?

It is "old", relative to the type of game.

Yeah that's a good point. The only reason I'm picking it up is because some of my friends have it already.

Only thing I cared for in the division 2 was the world. Pretty impressive.

The gameplay sucks. It feels like a glorified shooting gallery.

The shooting felt great. And I'm only around level 20, but the mission loop seems pretty stale. Clear a room, go through a few doors, more enemies, kill them, get to a terminal, upload file, protect computer from enemies while computer does it's thing.

The one think I really appreciate about this over the first one is that I can finish missions solo pretty regularly. The first one punished you for playing by yourself, but I feel it's way more manageable now.

I had the same problem with Division 2 as I did with 1, it just didn't have any lasting power.

For $5, I'd say it's worth it.

Update: Now its only 3 dollars on the actual Xbox store. I wonder if they are doing the Destiny 2 model and releasing the base game uber cheap/free to entice people to buy the newer content coming out.

Slightly better than the first one. Overall thought it sucked. Just boring repetitive bullet sponges. Meh

That's the new plan for these live service games I think. I don't mind. I got the last one of these for super cheap too.

Yeah, the only problem with "Games as a Service" is that they can release an unfinished game for full price, and milk you out of more money with season passes and other stuff that is content that should've been in the game's original release from the jump.

They're releasing an expansion soon, Warlords of New York, for $30. You return to the scene of the first game but it's not winter. I've read a lot of great stuff about it.

This right here, along with micro transactions, are my biggest problems with AAA gaming right now

Yeah I agree. At least Sony has been dedicated to producing solid single player narrative focused games like God of War, Last of US 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man etc.

Just grabbed the base version for $3. The biggest deluxe version was only $18 too but I’ve got too many games right now anyway

It does feel like a more refined version of the original game. My problem with this game and Destiny 2 is that I don't understand why "Games as a Service" needs a sequel every 4-5 years. It makes more sense to me to continue to build upon the foundation of the original game.

I don't see why the graphical enhancements couldn't be added to the original games so long as they continue to run on the same engine.

The only thing that frustrates me are the loading times. It takes like 2-3 minutes to load into the game then you have to load again when joining/leaving a party.

The license will always work against a game like this as well. Just not a lot of really fantastical gear/weapons to be found in the Division's gameworld nor are there unique and interesting enemy designs.
