I have a friend who's brother was/is really big into WoW. He created a female character, which whatever, I like Tomb Raider and Metroid. But my friend ran into some players his brother would run with all the time, and he asks "so you guys play with my brother a lot, huh?"
Their response: "............that's a guy?"

So my experience with FFXIV taught me there are hardcore players and RP players (Role Playing). RP'ers are the people who aren't going to chat with you about what TV shows they're watching or the game that night. They only communicate as their characters would. They actually require they're own servers because they freak out the normies.

I have never ran into RP with FFXIV and I played it for a few years. But i was also never in the server. WoW is some serious shite. As bruce and searched the town of stormwind for prostitutes we came across some people chatting and they just walked away so we decided to follow. They bust up into some tavern and demanded someone in there be one of their friends GF's. It is hilarious to watch.
When my gf got into the mix what these fricks were saying to her was hilarious.
