So how is fallout everyone?

I played Elite for the first time last night. Figured out docking/launching and how to pick up missions. Still a bit foggy on travel between systems and navigating via the galaxy map and ship radar.

Want to pick up a mining laser to start mining but I don't know where to buy one.

Keyboard/mouse control is decent but I don't like that the defaults left/right mouse movement makes your ship spin. It's difficult for me to keep the mouse centered so that it doesn't spin when I don't want it to.

I will also say that that it feels very lonely in space. There's no NPC ships flying around or radio chatter at least in the areas I have been to.
