Helping out a new player on Pursuer boss and ran to the ballista, cocked it, pulled the trigger and...

killed the host.

It really is my favorite one. Best PVP, best fashion-Souls, most replayability.

Got called to help a fellow covenant member with an invader, show up and the host is just standing there, I guess AFK.

Invader is named "i help." and after we both frick around a bit, we just start doing gestures, and then he drops me 10 Proud knight souls. I thanked him and jumped off the cliff.

frick that host. The invader was a cool dude.

DS2 was an interesting game for sure. I found the mobs to be obnoxiously difficult, especially that sequence with the pirate ship section in that cavern area. The bosses felt like a cakewalk in comparison to the mobs. I really enjoyed the world though. Hope they remake that one next.

DS2 gets so much undeserved hate for being the slightly “worst” in the best game series of the 21st century.

I love the pirate ship; the earthen peak windmill gave me the most rage.

Also for something different try out the Red Iron Twinblade - it can help with the mobs and is unlike anything in the rest of Souls.

Never bothered me.

I found 1 and 3 to be more annoying with the mobs they had. They didn't have as much, but the ones they did have were garbage built on a foundation of bullshite. Why you going to make someone fight the Caprademon in an area smaller than my bathroom and give him two pets?(Incidntally, it did birth my favortie videogame meme: "Any advice for (insert game here)?" "Kill the Dogs first." )

When it comes to DS2: throwing knives are your best friend. use no stamina and can kill most dogs and low level mobs with 1-2 hits. Plus they stagger them.

Truth. But I'd say it's not the "worst". It does things so much better than 1 and 3. Like the DLCs. Those three DLCs are the best product FromSoft has ever put out imo.

Still pissed they took away power-stance for 3. I get that people bitched a lot, but that didn't mean you had to take everything that 2 did new out.

Yeah even ranking it last is debatable. They’re all masterpieces.

it had the best PVP, fashion, and build variety. A lot of people love that stuff and it's their favorite Souls bc of it. I'm more focused on atmosphere, world design, boss design, and lore. PVP is fun too but I'm not a diehard PVPer like a lot of people on the Souls meme pages are

You can definitely tell it was made by the B Team & suffered from a very troubled development, and even though its the worst modern game they've made, it's still a good game compared to everything else out there. Booting Shibuya halfway through development was a great move since he just didn't get what made the series good, but they just didn't have enough time to reboot the whole thing competently under Tanimura, which is why the game kinda has a "patchwork quilt" feel to it. The world just doesn't have that expert craftsmanship that the other games have and the whole fiasco with the lighting and textures just makes it feel ugly. Worst bosses in the series (base game) don't help either, and Soul Memory and ADP were just horrible design choices. I think the DLCs were better than the base game since they had Tanimura at the helm from jump street. Honestly though, I think Miyazaki is just the *chef's kiss* that From games need

disagree here. the DLCs were mostly good because of the bosses (Alonne is one of the best fights in the entire series imo and Ivory King is just plain epic), but the rest was hit or miss. Entire Shulva DLC was forgettable. Brume Tower and Eleum Loyce are awesome, but Iron Passage and Frozen Outskirts are the biggest pieces of shite in the entire series. They fixed a lot of my complaints with the bosses but I was 50/50 overall on them

My ranking would be

DS1/Bloodborne
Sekiro
Demons
DS3
DS2

I want to put Demons higher because of the incredible atmosphere, but the bosses are just so lacking since From was in the infant stages of their boss designs. Would probably have it higher if I played it first

I must not have used this item lol. Idk, I found the mobs in DS2 way more difficult than any other Soulsborne I have played. Granted, I still need to play DS1, Demon Souls remake, and beat Bloodborne.

Great for stunlocking the reindeer in Horsefrick Valley if you don't want to pancake them with a great hammer.

Those things frayed my nerves bigtime.

With all due respect you’re not qualified to call anything “obnoxiously difficult”.

DS2 is the most unrefined one and the movement feel was a step back from DS1, and there are a few areas in the game that are just fricking bullshite, but I love DS2. It has really poorly tuned difficulty in some spots and some badly designed challenges but it's so long and the DLC was great outside of the bullshite challenge areas. There are a ton of builds an an ungodly amount of weapons. I personally loved the story too.

And frick those reindeer in the frozen outskirts. To this day the boss at the end of the outskirts is the only boss in the entirely of soulsborne that I haven't beaten without NPC summons due to those frickin reindeer.

Came back to bitch about the controls in particular. I've been trying it again the past 2 days and my God this game is a pile of shite still. Least enjoyable DS game there is.

DS3 is light years better than any of the other games. Fight me.

Agreed.

DS2 has awkward controls and movement in general. It takes a lot of getting used to. But everything else about it is great.

And yes, DS3 is by far the best one.

in terms of mechanics and bosses, yes. much harder to go backwards after acclimating to the speed of 3.

DS1 and BB are still the best overall packages though (BB being a huge influence on 3's speed)

I didn't like BB. The dodging seemed off and it got repetitive. Lack of variety in weapons, armor, and level design as well. I beat the game, but I have no interest to replay it.

All 3 Dark Souls have almost infinite replay value.
