I see lots of Star Wars nerds on the board.

A friend got me a 60-day subscription and 5500 "Cartel Coins" for Star Wars Old Republic.

I have played off and on since launch. I have a 50+ Juggernaut, Guardian and Commando, though I don't remember much of the story for any of them.

My questions being:

Which class should I level first? My favorite part are the class missions/story and companions.

What should I buy with my cartel coins? Packs? Companions? Equipment?

Bonus Question: Crew Skills, which ones?

Jedi Knight. Not the best story, but the game makes far more sense as a jedi character of any sort.

Im in the minority, but I like the smuggler story. Sith inquisition and Imperial Agent also good

That's up to you. Id buy either mounts or some of those loot boxes. The boxes can contain some neat stuff like mounts, decorations, and unique gear. It's random chance though

I forgot about this game except every now and then I get an email about some special.

I started in the beginning but the group I was with we had max out at least 1 if not 2 characters within the first month. It was to easy to level and in the beginning the PvP was horrible. I did enjoy huttball but overall just did not have enough endgame. Even the raids and group instance type of stuff was like being on easy mode.

Didn't they consolidate a lot of the servers?

SWTOR hasn't had a meaningful endgame update in at least two years. When they released Knights of the Fallen Empire, they gave you some side stuff to keep you busy, but outside of that, it was a glorified Telltale game with new story chapters releasing once a month.

I don't think there has been a new op or Flashpoint since the last couple expansions but this newest one may have them

Um, well, depends. My favorite Story line was the Imperial Agent.

The best thing, if you want to resell and make in-game money, is to buy packs and then sit on the rarer stuff until the packs are no longer for sale.

Crew Skills - depends on your class. The universal ones are cybertech and biochem. Everything else will build things that are more or less slated for types of armor/weapons.

I started playing this again a couple of weeks ago, I stopped playing after release when I hit the level cap. The game hasn't changed a lot but it's still fun for what it is, I don't see me doing more than this one month of subscriptions. The class stories are well done and I enjoy the personal spaceship missions. I have leveled to 56 so far doing only class missions and space missions.

I miss this game, I had a fun time at release hitting level cap and playing the little end game raids before they got boring. The hardcore versions were a lot of fun. I really enjoyed getting all those boost things that required jumping and puzzle solving. The story was great, sad the endgame was so bad that I couldn't keep my clan together after a month or two.

The same it was fun but got boring very quick. The worst was that one you had wait forever for that little hoover craft out in the desert to float you over or the balloon one in the city IIRC.

I played with a group that I started with back in SWG before the NGE by Sony. That was a great game.
