They were pretty meh, imo. Insert heavy metal, shoot this monster, move here, oh a new upgrade, rinse repeat.

But no one is batting an eye about throwing 300 down for a console with no disk drive and will be always on...
Xbox has been planning this for way longer and it seems Sony has sorta been sitting back and enjoying being the king and winning the exclusive war and totheir credit they kicked MSFT's arse doing that..
Then MSFT just said..welp, let's change the rules of the game .
I really don't think Phil Spencer gets the credit he deserves. He is doing a great job trying to put the gaming division in the best position as possible

Microsoft is embracing a little bit of that Apple side. Let's think different and see what sticks. The hololens, cloud gaming, always on/digital only, that crazy arse room projector thing they tried

Yea I guess most linear shooters have that same formula. I don't know something just didn't click for me with Doom. Got bored half way through.

They will still offer those consoles with physical disk drives but by the end of this console generation both will have a fleshed out streaming option. Microsoft has started this trend with their xCloud platform.
