Guess I won't be buying EVGA any more.

i wonder if they'll partner with AMD or Intel now. it'll be interesting. maybe the can survive on PSUs and Mobos.

Stephen has emphasized that EVGA said they will be staying in business and has NOT entertained the idea of partnering with Intel or AMD in the future.

I just watched the Game Nexus video. The whole thing seems nuts.

None of it made sense to me until I got to the very end, and Steve made it clear that the CEO wants to spend more time with his family.

You don’t forfeit 80% of your revenue merely on principle, and I say that as someone who is basically considered absurdly devoted to my principles.

I'm fricking devastated. Been with EVGA since 04. No one touches them when it comes to customer service.
My buddy had a Zotac 980 for 6 years and it never gave him any issues so I guess I'll look to them for future Nvidia cards (unless Nvidia is about to pull a 3dfx and cut out AIBs all together).

Zotac is generally considered to be near the bottom of the GPU AIB product stack. Asus is historically safe, but we'll see if that holds out this gen.

Their amp cards are good but all their other coolers are kinda shite. My 2080 amp has been an absolute tank

I haven't owned an EVGA card since the Gtx 680, so I don't really care about this. Hopefully they work on putting out better motherboards and keep up their PSU game

Not accurate now. Zotac's 2000 and 3000 series cards are very solid.

Asus is "historically" safe, but EVGA's quality and warranty crapped all over them.

I’m not saying they are bad cards; I was saying that they aren’t worth specifically targeting. Are there any mainstream AIB that you believe Zotac to be markedly superior to?

Not necessarily "markedly superior" too, but I would have no problem purchasing Zotac right now over any of the other brands without EVGA producing cards.

But in a supply constrained paradigm, which in spite of all improvements is still going to be likely for a while when next gen is launched, I would caution anyone against trying to cherry-pick a single AIB, especially if it's not offering any appreciable benefit.

I'm in a bit of a different basket as I'll be targeting a high end hybrid/aio card, but that's going to put me in the 1% of even gaming enthusiasts, much less anyone else

My brothers and I have been buying EVGA cards since the 500 series. I just retired my EVGA 1080Ti and bought an EVGA 3080Ti a couple weeks ago.

Very sad news indeed as EVGA customer service/rma is hands down best in class.

We've always used Asus for mobos and never had an issue with them. However I know their customer service can be a pain in the arse if you need warranty support.

I wonder how EVGA will handle RMAs once they've exhausted stock of current GPUs.

I know were talking EVGA, but I will say I've been impressed with two powercool RED Devil Carsds. Had a 6800XT and now have 6900XT! Cant wait for next gen.

Don't you dare bring your AMD shenanigans into an Nvidia mourning ceremony!
