Going to start this as soon as a finish Metroid Prime remastered. Similar to Metroid Prime I never finished 4 back in the day so I can’t say to dive in

I’ve read roughly 15 hours. Sounds pretty fair for a well made game

I just got to the grand hall in the castle and have 11.4 logged per Steam, though it’s closer to 7-8 by the games actual play clock. I’m on normal difficulty and haven’t had too much trouble - just really enjoying it despite it not running ideally for me at 1440p.

I just made it inside the castle and beat the huge guy with the Wolverine-like spikes in the dungeon.
The game's ok so far. I'm not having as much as RE:7, RE:8, and the RE:2 and RE:3 remakes, though. One issue is that the game spatially does't feel the same. Space has been reduced to provide a more claustrophobic feel. The game is very linear. Not sure that was the right choice for this particular remake.

It is without doubt the best game released so far in 2023 yes that includes Hogwarts legacy. The platinum is extremely fricking punishing though so good luck if that's your intention. Playing professional mode straight with no alternative weapons or anything and just putting Ashley in the armor outfit when appropriate, can be one of the hardest video game experiences I've ever come across.
Capcom gets away with this shite because they left platers become the bullies when they want like 1 hit rocket launchers bought at merchants but more early game stuff is like this when you run a whole new save. I am currently at the castle water room. It is impossible.
I have crushed professional with all the slick insane shite ive earned.

Are you playing on standard. I found out myself early as someone who usually opts to do (what i consider a normal mans first play through for games) standard difficulty and standard settings.
in re4 and rem4ke it doesnt even approach that. On normal mode more like than anything RE has ever done or ive even seen in standard you feel yourself become the terminator. A thinking, cold, killing methodical machine cold and ruthless and without joy just carrying out commands as they are transmitted.
Hardcore is what someone wanting survival horror should start on

Also to anyone ready and reading this the game is drastically improved by paying your own microtransaction by forcing it to play the originals soundtrack. I couldnt name one melody, song, or defining feature in remakes soundtrack because it doesnt feel either 1 of 2 things.

2) or the new people playing the characters will complain ab0ut something new they heard from reddit and it will destroy anything have any possibility of growth
I know none of us are tremendously invested in some kind of resident evil mmo but where the game has be going to would not shock me if its not long for this world giving capcoms most recent vibe. They spend much much much money on it, but where does it go, I swear these jerk offs are high 75% of the time.
This is admittedly much much more of truism for re2 remake with all honestly. You spend much of that game alone, going through some shite, trying figure out whats killing and eating folks, then 4remake just makes the main character a count about it.

So many bull shite areas. You literally can’t fricking see where your going in some cases which is the most frightening part! Seriously frick this game! It’s trash!

There are brightness sliders. Adjust that shite to the point where your monitor could blow out your retinas. The mood and tone will be ruined, but have fun champ.

Wow. Sounds like you’re melting. The game is dark where it needs to be to evoke the tone it wants. The village fight and many many after are in broad daylight. Time doesn’t begin shifting to night until around chapter 7ish when you reach the castle and change zones.
And holy shite people the game will have many areas like this later but way way worse. It’s a timed sequence based on a lessened countdown on how many you do actually kill 15 being the max. It wants you to learn when not to fight and where to unload.
All of this is to say nothing if you just watch what speed runners mostly do and sprint through chapters 1-4 as fast as possible fighting absolutely no one since it is immediately mostly pointless, almost every encounter only serving to teach new players something, disregarding their drops. That is if you want to be a fun sucking loser ruining your experience especially the first run

Just made it past the one on one “wait till the elevator gets down and it’s just as dumb as I remember.” I liked nothing about that part in the first game and they made it just as dumb as the first one.

I have beaten this game 8 almost 9 fully. Gotten every achievement or record whatever but 1 and thats beating professional on a fresh save file. I assume by your incoherent mumbling you mean the verduga fight? What difficulty are you on and how upgraded is your magnum and shotgun because you arent really supposed to kill him run 1. He drains the frick out all your resources but if you insist trap in the freeze traps then melee snd shoot in face with magnum make sure theyre fully zoom target shots. When thats out of ammo go shotgun. He will still be alive so hope you go good with your knife cuz now you parry everything and knife him back. It is doable i have done it and many others have but its stupid to do so and you get a 30,000 treasure only.
You clearly have absolutely no idea whatsoever how to play this game. and what fricking AI taking over are you talking about? No one ever, "takes over the AI," you are always in full control of Leon. Some few rooms can be a bit rng and based on knowledge of the game but this reeks of another case of you dont understand the game and havent learned shite being in chapter like 12 is the sewers i believe. That is a you problem. You way more often than not can manipulate the AI in your favor assuming you are observant and patient a bit to find shite like raising the cannon early or grenade killing the guy who drops your bridge going for the lion head before he can. Many more examples.
Also really look into the grenade arrow things. That is one of the best weapons in the game. You can trivialize much of what you complain about.

I just wanted to come and shite on this abomination as much as possible. You are as slow as Robocop expected to fend off spider man villains!!! There is nothing fun about this piece of shot. And sicboy can suck it completely
