PS5 Complete Teardown
Pretty cool video breaking down the whole console. First thing I noticed is how big this console really is, it’s a beast. I’m glad I can lay it down sideways in my entertainment center I’m also happy about the removable side panels, makes it easy to clean the fans, and it means so many different customizable options in the future.
11/12 can’t get here soon enough.

I really like this design. Lots of cooling. The custom side panel market will be booming.

The heat sink alone is massive.

Interesting they're using liquid metal instead of thermal paste. Aside from Asus ROG laptops starting this year, I don't think any mass manufactured product uses it yet.

PS5 is an absolute unit, might have to wait for the slim version before adding it to my living room.

ETA: Also seeing PS5 supports all M.2 NVMe SSD sizes. Beautiful

I will 100% be buying a PS5, but I made get an Xbox as well. They both look badass.

Apparently the Xbox runs hot according to outlets that got early access to the system.

The detachable sides is a nifty idea. There will definitely be a bunch of people who buy additional "limited edition" side plates to celebrate certain games and franchises.

A large heatsink increases soak time, but once it is heat soaked, you still have to have enough air moving to disperse the heat. That would be my primary concern with the Xbox.

That PCB in the PS5 is a work of art, Two intake fans on both sides. Stand up operation will be the best way to keep it cool
