I mean, if it wasn't something people wanted then Microsoft wouldn't have been selling the Xbox Elite controller and Sony wouldn't have just made an adapter for the DS4 to add paddle buttons.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Sony simply numbers their console releases. Something so straightforward that works beautifully. Consumers understand it, it conveys a completely new console generation has begun, all that jazz.
Meanwhile every other major console manufacturer that ever existed managed to shoot themselves in the foot with bizarrely named consoles that either sound completely stupid or just confuse the consumer.

Talk this weekend started up again that the PS5 will be fully backwards compatible with ALL previous PS systems' game media.

Then why mention anything about it? Why dip out on E3 this passed year? What other opportunity would they have to announce it.
