Most of the bashing I saw surrounding Ryse had very little to do with it being a button masher and a lot to do with it looking very boring. The very first footage they showed of it made it look almost like a series of quick time events strung together. (This also in and of itself isn't necessarily a bad thing imo, depending on how it's used.)
Regardless, the latest videos make the combat look much better and reminiscent of the "Batman: Arkham..." games, like you mentioned.

Saw an interesting interview the other day about that original demo from E3. apparently they wanted people to believe it was in game footage so they put the buttons for QTE on there, it backfired.

If you're talking pure hardware specs and price, I agree with you. However, I think the Xbox One pretty clearly has the better launch line up of games with Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, and Ryse all being exclusives.

It undeniably has the better launch lineup. Sony seems to be living off the cheaper price point for the time being, and letting the better studios sit on their games a little while longer (not to mention they actually released a shite ton of exclusives this year whereas MS stopped supporting the 360 long ago and focused on building new studios for next-gen).

There are quite a few exclusive indy titles for PS4 at launch that Xbone doesnt have. They don't usually get mentioned.
Xbone definitely has a larger non-indy launch lineup though.
Same thing happened with PS3. No real system sellers at launch. All the good series came a little later.

You can't really know until the games are out. You also have to look at the launch window titles. Xbone basically just has Kinect Sports and Titanfall. PS4 has InFamous, DriveClub, Deep Down and a ton of PSN games.

That's true and a good point. I'm really looking forward to Resogun. Super Stardust HD was one of my favorite arcade style games of this past generation.
