I ask because The Show is in a league of its own.

ETA:
Pun intended.

Also I think it's odd Microsoft keeps saying there isn't a big deal between 720p and 1080p. I wonder if they will stand behind that the whole generation.

I really hope this isn't a topic all generation and people learn to discuss the games themselves

1080p vs 720p is significant though. Not sure why Xbox wouldn't pony up and match the current ability of most nice TVs.

Wait, Xbox One is in 720p?!?
Shitty decision is shitty. Why would they do that?

Well it isn't because they don't want 1080. In fairness they have done 720 or 900p and upscaled it on some so it still looks better than normal 720. Games still look good, don't worry.

I'm genuinely confused. You're telling me Microsoft didn't know how to make a 1080p console within their budget constraints?

So from what I gather in my limited knowledge it breaks down like this.

PS4 > Graphically by a small margin
XB1 > All Around Media Hub and possibly better system longevity

Am I right to assume this?

Here the deal I own both systems because I love the ps exclusives. But most of the the people I play multiplayer games with bought the one. So I had a dilemma get the one and play with friends or get the ps4 and play alone I saved up and bought both. To which one I suggest is not simple. If you like the ps exclusives get the ps. How the tv integration and deals with the nfl are really cool on the one. If I could have only bought one console it would have be the xbox bc that's where my friends are. The people that are saying the graphics are better on ps4 are correct but it's slight I own cod for both consoles and it's not night and day but there is a difference hope this helped

Not a bad assessment, however fan boys will attack this from both ways

I don't know what they thought to be honest with you but early on developers have struggled to make 1080 games on the one. I think it's blown out of proportion though. Ryse was in 900p and looked fantastic. There are many things that matter more than resolution but that's the hot button topic right now and it is a number we can measure so it is used. If developers wanted to do 1080 they would, but instead they are choosing to use other effects and textures as well because they value those things.

That's the only part I don't agree with. If anything it's the other way around.

the way i feel on reading reviews and watching videos, is that the One is trying to be more than just a gaming system and having some success in doing that. PS4 is basically just gaming with some app abilities. Not taking anything away from PS4, but just saying it doesn't have the "bells and whistles" xbox one has.

I feel like XBox One with the continued delivery of promises and tech MS made, would be a better investment long term, where as the PS4 would need a new system in a matter of years to do all the things the One can in this generation.

I see what you are saying and agree. I don't think either system will have any longevity issues

No it wouldn't. Sony is not trying to the same things as MS is doing with the One.

That is where you have to decide what is the better option for you.

IMO Xbone may be a better investment in the long run if you only speak to Kinect and Cable TV integration. At the same time that investement may or may not pay off, depending on how Kinect is developed and used by devs and how the cable TV integration is developed.

On the other end, the PS4 may be the better long term investment if you are strictly talking about gaming and graphical fidelity, and also exclusives.

Its a hard decision because what we see now with both consoles is probably not what we will see a few years down the road, for better or for worse.
