How hard is it going to be to buy PS4s and new xbox's?
Is it going to be a limited release kind of thing and people scalp them on ebay, or will they be well stocked for Christmas?

Did you get the launch edition? I know with the xbox there were two options, Day One and Standard(after release edition). I know Sony didn't have a special edition like MS, but they did have two separate consoles if I remember right.

Yeah, they've got the PS4 Launch Edition, PS4 Standard Edition, and then BF4/Killzone/Knack/Watch Dogs launch edition bundles.
