Which is the better game: Battlefield 4 or Black Ops 3?

Battlefield 4. I still play...I still remember the days of BF3 chopper dominance.

Jim, know that Banana's answer is extremely skewed and predictable.
But ask yourself which do you prefer: high-paced constant arcade action or large-scale squad based combat.

BF3 was one of my favorite games ever -- I've heard BF4 has had some problems, though.

I'm more of the latter, for sure. But COD can be fun with a good group.
I've gotten the itch recently to game more regularly so I'm finally going to buy a PS4 and my decision is between the black ops 3 bundle and the Uncharted bundle. I have no interest in the Star Wars game.
I've already played every Uncharted game, but it could be fun to replay the stories before Uncharted 4 is released.
Do yall play Metal Gear Solid 5? That's a definite buy for me.

sic's right, but I only really have the time to play a game I actually like when I do play, so I play BF4. And it did have a lot of problems, but since the game came out in 2013 it's gotten a lot of fixing and a lot of great DLC and they're still working on the game over 2 years past release. And what I mean by that is they are constantly tweaking how they want the community to play the objective and all that. As far as performance, they've fixed about 95% of the problems.
DICE LA have done a great job with this game and the player base is very strong on PS4.
I have only seen Black Ops 3 in action and I'm not one for moon jumping and robot soldiers, so it's just not my thing.

I think you can definitely judge that book by it's cover in terms of if you'll like it or not. COD's trajectory is losing a lot of it's core fanbase, but they feel this is the direction it needs to go, so have at it.

They will always sell games, but evidently they didn't alienate a lot of their fanbase with going to this future stuff. A lot of BF YouTubers are on board with BF5 being a modern military game, which DICE already said it will be. I'm not sure what's on the horizon after that for Battlefield, but I definitely would like to see a new Spec Ops game. Something something Warfighter blue on blue something something, you know the drill.
A return to WWII would not suck at all, either.

To me, WWII games need to be basic and pure. That's why I never got into World at War. I hated the fact that you could mod a Tommy Gun like that. Killed the atmosphere of it all for me.
I wonder if we've gone down the COD road too far to ever truly go back to that genre, meaning will the market even want a somewhat plain jane WWII shooter?

If WWII does get a new life, I want it from DICE.

Ha yeah, it's not really my thing, either. For me, the heyday of COD was MW 1 and 2.

WaW was the only COD game where I exclusively played on hardcore mode. That game was so much better with no HUD and using the semi auto rifles

Also, BF4 hardcore mode is so legit.

You have my attention. What kind of load outs do you like to run in hardcore?
I ended up getting the black ops 3 bundle -- I decided I probably wouldn't play through the UC games and went for the new game. I figure if nothing else, COD can provide some mindless fun battling 12 year olds in multiplayer and zombie mode.
I only bought the base BF4 game, but I'll download the free maps. I'm not sure at this point if premium is worth it since BF5 is likely being released at the end of this year, which I'll go all in for.
Started playing MGSV last night. What an intense and beautiful game.

Premium is worth it for me because the maps are really nice and there are rented servers that provide them on Conquest and Rush. The free maps are the best maps, though.
On a side note, DICE may forgo paid DLC with BF5...or at least they should...and go with free DLC. The paid DLC separates the player base and the downloaded content can get alienated after the life of the game. If the maps and weapons were free DLC, everyone would be inclined to get them and use them.
Okay, so loadouts...it depends, really. I never snipe, so Recon is usually out. But you can use a DMR, shotgun, sniper rifle or carbine on the Recon class. They gave Recons C4, too. I mostly run either Medic on urban, infantry maps or engineer on larger maps.
There's a lot to get used to in BF4 compared to BF3. b-rab and I usually play a few nights out of the week.
I have an eye on the new Ghost Recon game coming out.

Yeah, I think I'm just too late to the game for me to buy premium, but I'll see how I feel after playing it a bit. Good to hear about the free maps.

Yep, this definitely happened in BF3. Barely any servers ran DLC maps.

What does Support have?
Also, I haven't watched any videos yet, but is there no HUD in hardcore?

quote:They have C4 too. They made all the soldiers more all-around soldiers that also have their specialties. Medics can have shotties, AR's, DMR's and carbines. You'll see once you get into it.

quote:No map at all. And that's great IMO. You can also modify your HUD through the Options menu in the game. You can set how to scale the objectives, how big the icons on your screen can be, etc.

I'll probably be able to play some in the mornings this weekend and in the evenings next week.

and how does it work when you invested at a higher rate and it dips low? Do you have to pull your shite out and reinvest to get the lower amount? I made a killing the last time the bottom fell out
