I agree to this. However, I'm not saying it's paradise, but my family moving from Louisiana to Florida was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Really can't stand going back.

You are right, most of the taxes do go to the Fed. But the State is the entity that controls the construction of the highways, interstates, etc. that take forever. It's just disheartening to see so many other places be so much better and provide that quality of life and then we live here with trash everywhere and highways and bridges that are falling apart.
Just an aside, though...they have different grass up there. It's so green and soft. They don't have the rough, crawly, viney grass we have. It lends itself to looking way neater when cut because it makes it look like a baseball field.

Louisiana is just trashy bro. O&G runs the state. I'm sure some state official is getting some kind of kick-back from the Exxon's, BP's, etc. Their needs will always come first. Road repair is constant being we are doing it over swampland and apparently that is still a mystery in regards to getting it right. Hell, look at how many times 308 has been repaved/repaired just since we've been born.
I agree it sucks. Drive 3 hours east or west and your car isn't getting beat to shite. Traffic seems to flow smoother(outside of some areas), but unfortunately, i don't see it ever changing
