Nah, they seem worse than the Elites. (cheaper, no bass boost/control, uglier IMO).
I think they're just rebranded regular Pulses with a redesign and PS4 tag. Price indicates that at least.

apparently Pulse Elite will also get an Iphone App soon to tinker with different profiles.

Interesting, I mean they have an app on the PS3 and PS4 so I don't really get why you'd need a phone app but hmm.
Be nice if you could create your own profiles and tweak the EQ to your liking.

I believe they are talking about a PS4 app, like the PS3 app is called "Elite Manager" and developers create custom profiles for their game you download and then select with a button on the headset.
Battlefield 3 devs created a custom profile for BF3 and you could apply it to the headset, was fantastic.
Miss it on the PS4, I think they're just renaming the app on PS4.
