I really like the wood laminate we have currently
It's extremely durable as it has survived our kids
Real wood dents, scratches and scuffs too easy. Maybe in our next house when they are grown a little, but the laminate is awesome.

That's how my house now is and I love it. I do have carpet in my bedrooms and I'm putting the same kind in my new house. But I didn't want tile in the foyer/kitchen/dining room. I may take the tile up if it really bugs me. And so far it is really bugging me and I haven't even seen it yet.

What's wrong with tile?
I actually wish I had done my foyer in tile instead of the laminate but I like the tile in the kitchen

If your dishwasher, sink, or fridge leaks any water and you don't catch it quick enough, your wood floor in the kitchen would be ruined
Also, I'd rather tables, chairs and stools being slid around on tile rather than wood

We've agreed on a plan, but it wasnt easy
Now its gonna be hell getting her to settle on cheaper components so we arent looking at a $200sqft build

They got me with the base options, like black appliances. I had to upgrade. Stainless ftw
