i don't really understand the MSB's big problem with casual fans being a bigger fan of a certain player than a particular team
i'm not a big basketball fan, but I do like to watch good players play
I watched quite a few heat games this year, but if lebron goes somewhere else, i doubt I watch many heat games at all next year

The stars in basketball really stand out, especially because there are only 10 on the court. I don't follow basketball at all, but I can tell that the individuals are much more entertaining than the teams themselves.

It is just the age old stigma that you have to pick a team and stay with it. Not to mentioned peoples subjectivity goes out the window for their favorite team, making it seem kinda hypocritical.
Meh...I can see the problem, I just don't really care.
