If you know what you're doing, no more than a grand, maybe $1,100. Maybe less depending on how ambitious you want to get. I had a guy spot me a free copy of Windows 7, so that helped a bit.

That's on the high end starting from complete scratch. I bet we could build a solid BF3 for $700.
