Cox is expensive though. i pay about $115-$120 for internet, standard tv, DVR, and HD channels. NO HBO and such unfortunately
what makes you think thats expensive?
its all relative....any other service is gonna cost about the same for the same package

i could live without cox sports, i just see no advantage to switching providers
i really like directv, but i hate that the weather may impact my viewing when my cable has been pretty much flawless, and cox is probably the best internet to have in my area
uverse isnt available yet, to my knowledge, but it seems pretty hit or miss on how good your connection is

It's kind of a novelty getting CST over here in Florida, but other than Saints preseason, which they show on TV over here anyways, and the replays, I rarely go there.
Some of the crappiest commercials I've seen on television also.

the greatest commercial on TV is the commercial for "walker transmission"
its probably a 10 year old commercial and it has aged like a fine wine
not sure how many of you have seen it
"ever had your transmission.......blow up?"

is that considered a local commercial?

If by local you mean I brought it with me to Cali, then yes...

Walker Transmission
I really would like to know how long that same commerical has been on? I put it closer to 15 years

i base that it's expensive off of usage i guess. i might only use 5% of the channels i purchase.
it sucks that you have to purchase a package to get a package to get HD channels. so i end up with a product i don't need. i can't tell you the last time i watched a non-HD channel.
i don't think the price per channel is necessarily bad, but the fact that i have to purchase things i really don't need to get to HD and DVR is what i find costly.
otherwise i'm just being cheap.

Assumed since I was talking about commercials on CST.

That's reasonably priced. U-verse wanted $170/month for that same stuff. I switched to Cox and got an extra box on a 6 months special for $104/month, and only $128/month after that for all of the exact same services.

We have some friends that bought one of those newfangled smart TV's. They don't have cable at all and just watch their favorite shows from the network websites or Hulu.
ETA: Problem with that is that you don't get coverage in your other rooms if you have nonsmart TV's in them.
