I had the opposite experience with RE6. Leon's campaign was the only good part.

I never did finish that game.
Just couldn’t get into 6.

I’ve got the platinum/100%’d basically every resident evil game in the series except for RE6. One of the shittiest games ever made. Gas station bathroom coat hanger abortion of a game. Could barely finish it

There's a reason they had to completely reboot the series after 6.
It was definitely the jump the shark moment for the series.

Just finished RE7 and DAMN, that was a fantastic game. My only real complaint is that I wish it was longer. Otherwise, absolutely loved it.
On to the DLC!
ETA: One other complaint…wasn’t really a fan of the ship section.

The first third of RE7, in the house with Jack, is as good as anything RE has ever done.

RE5 with the boulder punching was definitely a “jump the shark” moment, but the game was actually fun, especially with two people.
6 was just boring.
One day, I might try to complete it.

If the rumors are true they are wanting to bring a sort of remaster only of RE6 to modern systems I’ll be severely disappointed with what I thought Capcom as levels of maniacal Machevelian schemes going with these remakes ultimates purpose was. Yes they’d make money and people generally like them and want more, but I’ve always got the distinct feeling with the way they have gone about basically all of RE not solely the makes of 2,3,4 that this is all essentially one giant corporate effort to erase one of gamjnfs biggest failures and stains from Capcoms history forever.
In essence this has ALL been built for and to accomplish a resident evil 6 people actually like, holds up well, and doesn’t essentially maintain itself as the moment the franchise died with the OG cast for real. And if all that is just bs and it was all about remakes for quick cash and a port of the UNIVERSAL HATED RE6 I’m gonna riot
RE rumors are just getting outright unhinged. Someone should make a thread about those in their own right it’s fricking clown car central there

Idk how popular this opinion is but RE7 takes a drastic nose dive in quality the moment youre supposed to make the “decision” which any man knows is no true choice at all.
It’s more or less slop to garbage after but it should be heaped massive praise for what it was able to do post RE6 until that part of that game transitioned from basically what most people enjoy about RE to well the things they simply don’t

This a very popular opinion. I've never met anyone who thought the tanker section (or beyond) was any good. It's passable at best, a modest slog at worst.

Lol I guess I still have one staked hold out then :( who knows.

It was such an amazing mashup of TCM, House of 1000 Corpses, the Saw franchise, and the Evil Dead. It'd honestly make for a great horror movie.
In addition, the backstory of the Bakers is absolutely heartbreaking (as revealed in the Daughters DLC...havent finished Not a Hero and End of Zoe yet).
I can acknowledge the flaws, but overall I thought it was a fantastic addition to the franchise, especially after RE5 and RE6

Im not sure how spoilery this is but the game is old and im pretty sure its revealed in the main game not through DLC
That one of the bakers actually wasnt under the mold control.

I know most people think RE 4 is the GOAT RE game, but what are your other favorites?
I really enjoyed 4 and 5 also

Yeah RE5 is one of the greatest coop games ever.

Remember running levels over and over again to fully upgrade the weapons.
I might download it again.

Have you played revelations 2? It has literally one of the best multiplayers (you can play it single player yourself as well) sort of rogue like things I’ve ever seen not just in RE.
Man both revelations game were fricking cool. Remember when we got really creative shite. It seems like the one actually true thing from the INSANE RE9 rumors is that Leon will in fact be the main character. They better give my girls Jill and Claire a revelations 3 featuring Barry since him and Claire are already tied to revelations 2 anyway
Anyone who hasn’t played the 2 revelations game I very highly recommend. 1 is a psp game that game remade in way for console and you can definitely feel that but it’s got really cool and creative ideas they’d never dare put in the mainline. Rev 2 is the same (only game to bring back my waifu Claire) but built for consoles initially (also MF Barry Burton is the second campaign)

After recently replaying most of the games in the series, I'd say the best 4 are
RE4 Remake
REmake
RE2 Remake
RE7
In no particular order. All 4 of those games bring something unique to the franchise and they really can't be compared against each other
